I am having issues with my built engine. Valves are sticking open. Sending heads out to be serviced and cnc porting.
I am considering freshening the bottom end myself. Ive done dozens of motors so not worried about that however the cam timing has me scratching my head as it would be the first time for me.

Any good manuals out there? I have jdm ss cams with mmr tensioners and hd chains.

Thanks in advance for the help

I have always found the factory shop manuals to provide the best, most accurate information, specs, etc. I usually go to eBay and pick up a used set of factory shop manuals for any car that I buy and plan to own for an extended period of time. Some like the on-line version, some like the CD version, I like the paper books.......but that is just me.

For my 2008 GT500 I bought the Vol. 1 and 2 of the factory shop manuals for the 2008 Mustang, and GT500 specific information is included in those manuals. There is also a Elec./wiring manual that comes in handy if there is something electrical that is not working properly, or if nothing else, the electrical diagrams help for adding a power seat to the passenger side of an earlier GT500.

There is a guy on youtube who made a video on how to degree in Modular 4v cams. When I get home from work Ill link you to the videos. Great step by step.

Wow thank you very much. This will be a new learning curve for me.
The process is a little more involved, but not much different than an OHV engine. For aftermarket cams, this process as described really helps see how you verify installation and timing relative to TDC.

If you have a set of stock camshafts with stock sprockets, you should just be able to assemble them and go.
