I think that's a myth is it not? About the MDS.
And, I do the same in my '16 Ram Sport 4X4, rcsb truck. I disable the MDS every single time, mostly because of the aftermarket exhaust the amplifies the time when the MDS engages and disengages. I hate the MDS actually.

The lifters went out at 72k.
The head tech guy said he thinks that thought the MDS was to blame.

Last I saw on the Cherokee sRT forum, there's a backorder for lifters/related parts for the 6.4 due to them failing

Lol what...I don’t know what the last 7 pages said but you have to be pretty insecure for your “psyche” to be damaged from not having a truck.

Marketing for the win!

More like life/practicality.

Got a really nice free couch from the wifes parents. No truck, so I'll have to borrow one to get it.

Want to build a desk for my office at the house. No truck, so how the hell am I going to bring home planks of untreated timber? lol

There's nothing like beating on a beater with no cares. Make that beater a truck and its even more enjoyable haha.

Nice truck, looks clean. Gas or diesel? Makes me want to get rid of my smog required diesel for an old five nine and go wild on it.

Diesel, nv4500 truck. Bought it from 69 y/o original owner last week with 169k miles. It was stone stock.

This weekend I installed 75hp injectors and a quadzilla 180hp box.

Today I’m installing 4” turbo-back exhaust.

You get the picture...

That's horrible. Such a shitty design.
(I think my next truck, if I get a truck, will a supercharged F150. That won't be for a very long time though.)

The Jeep SRT has the stupid MDS as well?!?!?!? That is dumb. I didn't know that. Glad I didn't buy one.
I was looking at a left over 2018 Jeep SRT in black with black interior, every single option checked off. Thing was the balls. It was going to be my daily driver, but they weren't giving me enough for my trade and not taking enough off for a vehicle that sat for over a year on the lot. I'm glad it worked out the way it did. lol

Pretty sure every 6.4L mated to an automatic trans has MDS. Even the 2500's.
Only the Hellkitty's don't have MDS lifters.
Only way to disable it without a tune is through sport or track mode on the Jeep. It's an good excuse to use track mode.

Jeep dealerships will love it if the Redeye Trackhawl comes out. Might as well scrap the regular SRT for metal.

They should be begging people to buy the 6.4L now with the trackhawk out, and sitting too.

Damnnnnn, that sucks.
You think it's just shitty lifters or actually due to the MDS?? (I know everyone says it's the MDS, even on the Ram forums.)

You ain't kidding bro. I was ready to sign papers that day on the Jeep SRT. But, they didn't want to budge. I should see if they still have it!! LOL :D :D

Oh man, score!! It’s barely broken in, if it’s even broken in at that mileage! I swear my old 7-3 truck started to smooth out and get better mileage around 150k.

It’s soooooo fun to drive and still so tight. I like it A LOT. Actually thinking about selling my 2016 cummins and keeping this one.

First tank delivered 17.8 mpg and towed this small load for about 220 miles of the 440 total on that tank.

Yes, they are. I'm reading about it on the Ram forum. Not many, but some. I always disable the MDS, so I'm good.
"Hopefully". lol :D

You can’t beet the sound of the old Cummins. What year is it? Is that the 5-9 they call the “12 valve”? That’s excellent mileage. My 6.0 on 35” MT is lucky to get 10mpg. I was getting 16 mpg on the factory ATs.
