Except 4 of those engines are for one car/truck class only, or for niche cars.
5.0 is the only one split between the Mustang and F150.
5.2 variants is only for the 350/500 - small portion of Mustang sales
7.3 is only for the Super Duty lineup.
They got an SUV lineup of:
Ecosport, Escape, Edge, Flex*, Explorer and Expedition. Zero V8 options.
Ranger and Future Bronco won't get a V8.
Their flagship Raptor doesn't have a V8, nor their GT.
Lincoln doesn't offer a V8 at all.
Only producing a V8 for the Mustang probably due to the sheer outrage there would be if they dropped it from the lineup. Can't kill a gasser from the Super duty lineup either.
Zero engine choice in the above junk and no surprise terrible sales numbers to go with it. When will Ford wake up and realize that giving the customer options on engines and transmissions will sell more vehicles? This non sense of no choice has completely turned me off to the Ford line up. Look what sells good for Ford,
Superduty: 3 engine choices
Mustang: 5 engine choices
look what didn’t sell
Lincoln Continental: 1 engine choice
Wake the hell up Ford. Start giving the customers what they want.
I bet Lincoln could charge an extra $5,000 for a 500HP all aluminum 7.3L V8 engine option.
If Lincoln came out with that tied to a 6spd manual option I bet half of us on this forum would own one. On the flip side I wonder how many forum members own a eco boost Continental?
Id actually wager that almost literally nobody would buy a manual lincoln of any sort in this day and age. People dont even buy manual sports cars anymore and you think they are going to purchase one in a luxury car?

I bought a frigging Jeep because Ford couldn't get this done to date. My wife used to always buy Exploders but we chose Jaguar instead this time around and couldn't be happier. The current SUV debacle at Ford is a mess. The GT500 rollout seems to have been sabotaged by somebody within Ford as it has easily been the worst I've ever seen. With the current CEO in place at Ford I'm convinced the Bronco will be a cluster**** and would avoid them like the plague for some time - if they ever actually ever reach fruition.
I have been a Ford guy since I started buying cars back in the late 60's. I have had a bunch of them, I don't know how many to be honest, 95% Ford with a couple of chevy's and mopars thrown in over the years. The one common thread is they all had V8's. The wife has had a couple of 4 bangers and v6's but anything with my name on it has been a V8. I seriously doubt that will change anytime in the future. Between the wife and I, we currently have 4 Fords in the yard so I think I have been pretty brand loyal. I am starting to look at new vehicles again I suspect my next new purchase won't be a Ford product for the first time. Not only is the vehicle and option choice limited but the service and parts departments leave a lot to be desired. Just a quick look at what FCA is putting the Hellcat motor into now and what GM is doing with the C8 has changed my mind about brand loyalty. Ford is not keeping up sadly.
I don't think Ford is falling behind on these things.
Just because you've "always" done something, isn't a good enough reason to keep doing it.
Nick I usually agree with you, but in this case FCA is doing things the old school way and sell an ass load of product. People I have seen as Ford guys are switching to FCA, even here on these boards. They have a car for every price point and performance. Even the Hellcats are a decent price out the door and there is no bullshit wait list, or allocation to worry about.
I cant even make the jokes about the Hellcats being tugboats with big engines anymore because GT500 is damn near the same thing now.
I was a Chevy boy then became a Ford guy. Im still a Ford guy because of my GT500, the current Mustang GT is a good performance platform and the Super Duty is still around and the best 3/4 and 1-ton option out there.
Other than that, Ford's overall offerings are yawn at best. My opinion of course. Now we are waiting another year and a half for Bronco to launch... nothing but a shitshow of you ask me with Super Duty and F-150 keeping FoMoCo afloat.

For the last 3 years in Michigan, you see nothing but FCA products at all the car events now. Which are massive now. 3x the people vs 10 yrs ago. I go to almost them all.
Seems like everyone has a 392 or hellcat. Shit, i always see 1 or 2 Demons as well. Its gotta be 5 to 1 easy. What I don’t see are Ford products other than older variants. Not even close to the numbers of FCA cars.

I really hope they do have something new and exciting in the pipeline, they have a great opportunity to show that with the Bronco that I will reserve judgement on till it actually arrives. Right now anyone can go out and purchase several FCA products with over 700hp or a GM product with 650hp and drive it off the lot today. If I went to the Ford dealer, the best I could do is 526hp. Does this mean Ford is behind? Possibly not, but they certainly are not in the same league in the performance department that the average person can afford.
The average person is not buying the performance vehicles like they used to, period.
Will people on this, or any other car forum, admit/understand that..no lol Because we aren't "average buyers" when it comes to that regard.
I don't disagree with you Nick, Please don't think I do. While we are not the "average buyer". We are a small section of the market that that the car companies used to cater too, think "win on Sunday. sell on Monday". Our choices as Ford guys are dwindling and I for one don't like that. There are some excellent choices on the market right now and from a this Ford guys' perspective, Ford has fewer choices currently than the other guys.
