So I ordered a gt500 loaded up and blacked out. I recently (last Thursday) asked my dealer to see if he could order me a CFTP optioned car. Called me today and said "done, ordered"
Originally I thought you had to have "golden ticket" or something magival to get a CFTP. Am I mistaken?

It’s awesome if he was able to alocate one for 2020. You may have a 2021 alocation.

The carbon fiber wheels are heavily backordered...

Good luck, I hope you have a 2020 coming mid spring/early summer!

I’m excited
I have the c8 ordered and the allocation for the gt500 was unexpected. I figure I’ll sell the car I enjoy less. I am a lil tired of waiting though. The c8 was supposed to be December delivery but is now February due to strike. Can’t wait to see if the CFTP really happens

....yeeeaaaaaa this late in the game, sounds like your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about, or he simply put you on the list for 2021.

I would:

•establish that it’s refundable
•establish that it’s for 2020 and not 2021/22
•buy the guy a steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris steak house if he actually got you a 2020 cftp this late in the game
•bitch the mother****er out if he is playing you and hoping you forget the deposit/lose contact.

There are dealers here in Canada that still have allocations for the CFTP. At $135k CAD, it is a tough sell

Doesn't matter if they are are SVT/FP dealer anymore. Unless it's different up there. They don't automatically get allocations anymore. They have to actually opt in and pay a fee in order to get an allocation. If they didn't already do that, they are SOL for the 2020 year.
Call around in Ontario then. There are 5 new SVT/Ford Performance dealers added in the last 2 years. It is no longer as exclusive as it was.

It is different in Canada. You have to be a SVT/Ford Performance dealer to get a GT350/GT500/Raptor. When the GT350 came out, there were about 35 dealers in Canada that were allowed to sell them and they were allocated between 24-40 cars each. Same thing with the GT500 but the GT500 CFTP is on a lottery system here for extra allocations but all dealers are guaranteed one.

Sure they have to opt in, but it’s obvious business sense that they would do so. Why else would they enter that market area if they weren’t going to fully fledge their site. There’s plenty of cheaper real estate to build a car dealership on it ~$25k a year or whatever to sell premium cars is expensive.

to be honest, none of my friends even know a 2020 gt500 exists.
