Despite what the 2020 GT500 Owners Manual Supplement specifies, is there any "real" reason not to leave the Rear Gurney Flap and Front Splitter Wickers installed full time? And as long as I do not encounter any precipitation, why not leave the Rain Tray out full time too...?

I understand that this configuration might lead to reduced gas mileage, but would it affect the vehicle in any other way?

Only detriment is that without the rain tray, your engine will get dirty...

Run em if you want, I bet it’s barely noticeable in a quarter mile. Big question is do you enjoy the experience more? Then run what you want to run.

I haven’t seen many people mention it, but speed phenoms [email protected] pass was with the wicker and aero pieces which create ~300lbs at 175mph or whatever.

Maybe that pass would have been a 10.55@134, who cares.

My point is you can’t get hung up on 1mph here and .05 seconds there.

I swear the happiest gearheads are the people who build and rebuild and tune and return and set and reset and stance and restance their running or blown up xyz car entirely themselves and have the pride of knowing it’s theirs, **** the worlds take on it, they’ll drive it how they like it.

Set up the car how you like and enjoy it as such. Your money, your car, your choice. Anybody tells you otherwise, they can buy you’re car from you if you wanna sell it and set it up how they like if it bugs them so much.

That all said, you’ll probably see some rocks and pebbles get stuff here or there, everyday wear and tear and some splintering or cracking as time passes and miles rack up, some flexing and cracking etc.

If you drive the car, or put miles on the pieces, they will all 100% guaranteed eventually fail or wear. That said a plastic or composit splitter or wicker is less likely to fail than say a max effort 2000whp custom engine or a high effort customized sound system etc.

You’ll see wear and scratches etc, some stuff will fly up throw the grill, through the hood vents like large sandy dust etc and make little scratches, especially in windy or dusty areas like deserts.

I have wide open hood vents on my 03 cobra and it leads to that kind of stuff. Big whoop. I like the look so I run it. I have scratches on every panel or piece of the car, from 5 feet most disappear. I have buddies with pristine older and newer mustangs with higher miles, mines 6/10 exterior at best from 3 inches away. From 5 feet mine or theirs look equally perfect.
