Holy crap, that was an unexpectedly entertaining video to watch.

I hate the S550 model . . . except for the GT350 and GT500.

While I'm still think there are better cars at their respective price points than the GT350 or GT500, that GT500 is growing on me fast.

That Ferrari made this Shelby look Slow at the same price LOL
2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast is the 2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast 2dr Coupe (6.5L 12cyl 7AM). Including destination charge, it arrives with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of about $336,962.

Good man. It was only fair to give that pass. Dealers in Canada line up to hand you $10-25K off the price of new vehicle MSRP. How could any Canadian be expected to understand that the US dealers will be adding ADM such that the GT500 will end up costing around $336,962?

Not really as everyone I know and even people on here aren't paying big markups.

Ferrari is the fastest front engine RWD vehicle and the Porsche GT3 RS is one of the fastest road course cars you can buy.
The fact that is can hang with both at a reasonable price is impressive.
I’m not sure about your 100hp comment on the Porsche, but I know for a fact you can an extra 200hp to the Shelby a lot easier than you can add power to either the Porsche or Ferrari.

Lol it seems like the 812 hands the gt500 it's ass in a straight line, but the 500 returns the favor to the challenger.

I'd actually really like to see the 812 vs the gt500 on the road course.

Randy - No manual! Where’s the fun in that!!

my thoughts exactly. Hopefully Ford will pull a Porsche and give it to us as an option next year
Note neither the GT3 RS or the 500 had manuals.
Zero chance the 500 ties the Porsche with anything other than the DCT.
Also why Porsche made the same choice, as did Ferrari in the 812.

The 812 would likely lose on the road course and it should beat the 500 in the quarter in those conditions. It’s the better car, and priced accordingly.
This is probably the best 500 video I’ve seen.
Would’ve only been better if they threw in a ZL1 1LE on the track like the included the Hellcat on the strip.

The 812 has decent handling, but not to the level of a GT3RS or GT2RS. They are a GT car for long distance hauling in comfort with major sporting intentions on the order of Aston Martins for ex.

812 is my "win the big lotto" ride when the #'s match up on my ticket, for now I'll just have to settle for my 3 month old ZR1. *sigh*

Stupid comment by RP about no manuals, it's not new news anymore WE KNOW THE GT500 HAS NO MANUAL, and neither does the Porsche so saying that is dumb (I know he's playing it up on YT). Anybody catch his 4200lbs comment on the CFTP car? Would've been nice if they weigh the car we would know finally what one really weighs (the TP version).

I'm guessing that's USA MSRP for an 812? In Canada it starts at $450+k. Option one up the way a Ferrari should be optioned out and it's pushing $1M for one (already looked into it when I felt the itch that my lotto #'s were gonna come up).

True, but all that's gonna do is just show how much easier it is to smoke the rear Cup 2 to nothingness in the Shelby. Most of the single shots of the car in the video is the Shelby sideways with huge amounts of smoke out of the back tires, hardly any of that with the 812 or the Porsche.

It just shows up the brute, rough edginess of American vehicles vs. the knife edge precision and refinement of the Euro rides...……………….costs notwithstanding.

812 is barely faster around a circuit than a track pack gt500 based on comparing lap times.

7:27 is the listed Nurburgring lap. The gt track pack is gonna fall somewhere around 7:30-35, and a cftp should dip below 7:25. Maybe 7:20. C7 Zr1 was like 7:07 iirc.

Gen 5 zl1 ran 7:42 iirc, trinity gt500 around 7:40 dead. Honestly I’m surprised we haven’t seen times yet there for a cftp car, it will do excellent there.

There was never an official Nürburgring time for the C7 ZR1. Jim Mero was interviewed about that and lots of factors played negatively into his attempts to get a TRUE ring time. All he would say is that if he was able to do a "close to perfect or perfect lap" at the Green Hell in the C7 ZR1 it would be under 7mins. Segmented times around the Ring had the car doing a 6:56 or 57 at the Ring but it doesn't really count as the time should be 1 continuous lap not various section times added together.
