For those of u that own the small Antigravity battery be sure to hook the tender up to it. This is now my second one that I have killed.

First one was a bad wire off the alternator causing me to lose power and run off the battery alone till it died. Well, it never came back to life after that. I was fine with that. It is what it is its a Lithium battery and they have there down sides.

The second one killed was simply because im a jackass and didn't put the tender on it. Got down to like 10-20 degrees for about 10 days and I didn't have tender on it and it died. I may have some sort of parasitic loss coming from the stereo system or something I dont ****ing know but nonetheless if I had the dam lithium battery tender on it I wouldn't be out another $500 smh.

Thanks for the heads up. I use to run the Braille battery that was half the weight of the stock battery. After a few months of running the battery, i kept a 20lb jump box with me because the car would be slow to start. I ended up with a new stock battery in the end.

The Antigravity YTX 720 and then the 780. Im lookin at the Braille ones now. Think im done with AG.

The 720 and 780 are both 24 cell batteries, right? I have read a lot of good feedback on these and was considering getting one once my stocker craps out.

Keep this thread updated with what happens with the Braille.

I’ve been running the ATX12-24 for over 2 years now. The first year as a daily driver and this last year it’s been a weekend cruiser/drag racer. Car will sit for a couple weeks at a time sometimes and I do not use a tender, starts every time better than it did with a new OEM. I’m in FL so I don’t have to worry about real cold temps. Tender is a good idea regardless, sorry you’ve had troubles.

I really had zero problems with the first one till my alternator wire crapped out so I really can't say its not reliable. It just doesn't seem to wanna come back from the dead...... but thanx

Cold weather kills batteries. I pull mine and put it in the house when I park my car for the winter.

The reason you kill a LI battery is the charge rate from the alternator.
They have a 'limit' to the AMPS that can be pushed to them during a charge.
If you drain the battery down to 50% (say during tuning the ECU), once the engine is started the alternator will charge the battery at the MAX it can (this cannot be adjusted). So if you have a 100amp alternator and it takes 15 amps to run everything at idle the other 85AMPS will be used to charge the battery.
Imagine what a 200+amp alt would do....

Contact the battery manufacture and find the max charging amps the battery can take. The smaller the battery, the LESS amps they can be charged at.
I took out 2 LI batteries from this before contacting manufactures and having a Custom Braille unit made that could take a much higher charge rate yet still weighed 4.5lbs.
Talked to another manufacture who was ramping up to to change their LI batteries to the *next* technology and handle higher charge rates.

FYI, THIS IS WHY LI batteries explode and catch on fire!

If you keep the battery charged via batter tender at all times, never allowing the alternator to push excessive AMPS to the battery, you should be fine.

9 years on the stock battery and still doing it's job. I've kept it topped up with a 1.5 amp battery tender since day one.
The car is still quick as hell with the stock battery I could stand to lose 20 pounds though.

I once started my 4 cyl Fusion with a DeWalt 20v battery.:D

Not the safest thing to do but it works in a pinch.
