Cause its the substance Human beings have been using for thousands of years now to fuel their bodies. A very Small tiny fraction of society thinks human beings can go without carbs.

If its so great how come were not all on this carb-free diet? How come its not being taught in middle school and high school nutrition classes? Cause its another fad that will die just like any of these other BS diets out there.

Consume less calories ..... its not rocket science. Millions of ppl have lost millions of lbs on regular diets where carbs are a part of their daily intake as it should be AND they dont put themselves at risk for Diabetes due to their low Testosterone levels..... Thats why!

Why do you have such a huge boner for carbs?

I don't count calories in or out. I eat when I'm hungry. Keto seems to be the only diet I've tried that lets me get as full as I wan't without getting hungry a few hours later. I'm sure the effect has been less calories, but I'm not counting anything other than making sure the Jimmy John's guy put 3 of the Hunters Club "unwiches" in my bag last night.

Long term low carb diets are not about zero carbohydrates and keeping your body in ketosis. Such a thing is okay in the short run for weight loss.

But, long term, it is about cutting out PROCESSED carbs and SUGAR. Natural carbs and naturally occurring sugars are fine. Doing so will teach your body to be a fat burner and not a carb burner for energy.

This is how our bodies were designed, ala the caveman analogy used earlier in this thread. It's only been in the relatively recent history of humanity that we have made ourselves carb burners.

My diet is basically if it don't come from a momma or grown don't eat it. Shop the outside aisle's of the grocery store!!

Workout!!! Muscle burns calories throughout the day while recovering. If your older than 30 get your testosterone checked. If its low go on TRT. No shame on going on TRT . You'll feel ton better all around.

I'm so glad I went to get my T levels checked. I am several years under 30 and I randomly decided to get tested. My first blood draw showed 75 ng/dl and my second was like 120 ng/dl. The doctor said that he liked to see numbers between 800 and 1000 lol.

Now I am on TRT with my health insurance covering a majority of the monthly cost and I'm currently hovering around 750 ng/dl and I get Anastrozole to keep my estradiol at around 15 to 20. I also take the HCG injections to keep my "boys" from shutting down.

I have a lot more energy for the gym after work now and I have noticed that my body fat started to slowly drop even though I cut my cardio time per week in half and I basically eat the same stuff/diet that I have always had.

That made me LOL literally..... Who said anything about getting SUGAR only? So sugars is all ur body needs huh lmao..... smh. Maybe u should educate urself on what a carbohydrate is..... Carbs consists of (3) different nutrients being starches, sugars and fibre.

A sugar is a simple carb. Ur body needs more than simple carbs to function properly Bitch! Complex carbs pack more nutrients in the body than a simple carb does like adding fibre and starch. Fiber is especially important because it promotes ur bowel movement regularity and helps to control ur cholesterol levels.

So Caveman didn't eat carbs? Dude, u really need to educate urself before u come into a discussion about something ur clearly CLUELESS about! A caveman diet was rich in carbohydrates! Ppl been eating bread for 14,000 years now along with acorns and many other forms of carbohydrates.

Try doing a little research next time so u dont sound so ignorant.....

Your body literally converts starches into sugars. That's the entire idea behind cutting out carbs, because your body turns them into sugar. Fiber is left out because it passes through.

If you don't believe me, toss a handful of raw oatmeal in your mouth and chew on it for 2 minutes. Don't swallow. After 2 minutes it will taste like you have a mouthful of sugar. We did this experiment in the 7th grade and then measured the sugar content, it increased drastically.

There are a lot of people that say you need complex carbs because your body has to "work" to convert them to sugar, but it doesn't take very much work for that to happen.

Cause its the substance Human beings have been using for thousands of years now to fuel their bodies. A very Small tiny fraction of society thinks human beings can go without carbs.

FWIW, "thousands of years" is extremely small on the scale of how long people have been around.

Also, they teach bullshit in middle school and high school nutrition classes. The attorney general in the 1970s (I think) apparently was behind the increased consumption of carbs and the war on fat. Whether he was in the back pockets of the sugar lobby, or was actually sleeping with his vegetarian secretary, we will never know. All we know is that heart disease, obesity, and diabetes have increased significantly.

We eat about 2.5x the amount of sugar now than we did 100 years ago.

Also, watch this when it comes to calories in vs calories out. It's long and a bit slow but you'll learn a thing or two.

Austin, agree 100% on your stand on this.

Again, while I believe limiting carbs so much that we are in ketosis is okay for short term weight loss, the long term goal should not include a constant state of ketosis. Instead, limit carbs to that naturally occurring in vegetables (and a little fruit), nuts, and meats. Teach our bodies to burn fat, not carbs, for energy.

The Govt nutrition plans we grew up with were terrible. I don't know they were in anyone's "pockets," I just think the agenda was skewed for any number of reasons.

They taught the "Food Pyramid" in schools for years until the nutritionists found out it was completely wrong.

So keto is now being taught in HS nutrition classes as a healthy diet? This is what all the nutritionists got wrong?

Long term low carb diets will not only increase ur risk of Diabetes but also heart disease and cancer. Our bodies are not designed to get our fuel from fat unless were starving and dyeing! Its not rocket science bro its basic common sense. Carb rich diet people live longer period!

Carbs are NOT the enemy..... peoples lack of discipline in deciding what they put in their body is. Everyones looking for the "EASY" way to lose weight and be healthy.

There have been (10) popular diets that have come out over the last decade and guess what? Yea America is still the FATEST country on Earth.... Bottom line is they dont work! If they did threads like this wouldn't exist!

Calories in calories out!! Simple

One thing that helped me tremendously was weighing my food. You just need to do it for a week or so. Then you can get an idea of how many calories a certain size has. Stay away from dressings and condiments. Most are full of sugar.

mid like to see where low carb or keto diets are linked to heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Please post up some reputable links to support this hypothesis. I’m actually genuinely curious as I spend a good amount of my spare time sifting different stuff and it just doesn’t align with what I find.

carbs aren’t the enemy but like you said people lack discipline and as such they are usually the quickest thing that can be reduced in a diet to aid someone in weight loss goals.

In competitive body building they are often drastically reduced to reach desired body comp targets as protein and fats become essential for body function.

The truth- we know far more now about nutrition then we ever have but still have gobs to learn. Each person may have individual differences that may lead them to tailor a diet differently, some respond well to carbs (like myself) others don’t and see benefit in a more keto approach with support of healthy low carb veggies for needed micro nutrients but more overall fat intake. As long as they meet caloric needs for a given goal average health and body composition is easy to maintain on almost any approach.

Ya know what trumps ALL of these so-called diets? SELF CONTROL...... 70% of our country is listed as clinically Obese! Staggering!

And ppl wonder why heart disease is the #1 killer in America. DIETS don't work!!!!! 95% of diets fail. You would think with a 95% failure rate people would stop wasting their time with something that clearly does not work.

Again, I don't know anyone who has had a Gastric bypass surgery and not lose a shitload of weight. I also don't know any of them who exercise either! In fact, most that I know still eat like shit but simply eat less!

They lost a shit ton of weight cause they consumed less calories at each sitting. Nothing more, nothing less..... No carb cut out, No Keto, No caveman diet, No vegan diet, No raw food diet, No nothing! Less food intake daily thats it!

100% truth right here
"Diets" is temporary that's why it fails

Sure dropping the number on the scale is progreas but that it's not everything

muscle vs fat - Google Search:

I'd be more happy to share my experiences with losing 60lb twice on the scale, or my experience dropping 20% body fat, all 3 different method

I’ve considered getting a large quantity of tape worms to help me lose weight.

I won’t change my eating and exercise habits, but I’ll lose weight.

My wife didn’t necessarily condone it, but she also never said it wouldn’t work.

Here’s to a healthier me in 2020.
