Self employed here, commercial property owner / manager.

No direct impact on what I do, however lots of my tenants will be affected, loss of income. And there is really nothing I can do for them other than recommend they start with their insurance agent to see if they have interruption of business coverage in their policies.

No official statement from the governor yet but I get the feeling jobs that can telecommute will be asked too.

ADOT will probably will stay on unless something spectacularly shitty happens

As a car salesman, not only is working from home otherwise known as unemployed, I have to deal with the general public and all their nastiness coming in, sometimes for no other reason than because they have nothing better to do.

I've at least stopped shaking hands, but that's about all I can do.
Any word on if your management has authorized drastic discounts to generate sales? Wonder if this will start hitting dealers nationwide. I have my fingers crossed Jeep dealers here in Phoenix would be drastic enough to do it.

I empathise with you guys in sales, but hey, a good deal is a good deal no matter the endemic. :D

I've looked all my life for a high paying gig where I could work from home. Ironically, that job found me. I've been told to work remotely indefinitely.

I was getting up at 4:30 to get to the office by 6 to beat traffic. Now I roll out of bed at 7:15. I just wish my LRCX stock wasn't getting murdered. Y'all might look into buying some, either now or later. We dominate a lot of markets related to computer chip making machines.

My current job is within a branch at a Credit union, so I can't work remotely for that. However, I just got a promotion last week to a new position at the same company and it is in the back office. I suppose I could potentially work from home for that role.

Because I am in between and havent started the new role, I really am not sure if I'll be working from my home. My company is testing having support departments work from home this week to see how it effects our network.

I agree. I say 2 weeks.

My brother is going to be working from home as of tomorrow.
His wife has been working from home for a couple of days now.

The mayor of Boston just suspended ALL construction in Boston.

It's going to be longer than 2 weeks. The intent is to ensure everyone who's currently infected has the disease run it's course before they let up. Probably more like 4 to 8.

4 to 8 weeks mandated by the gov? lol.... No. Maybe in commie CA sure, but not nation-wide.

The Health Dept's will dictate it. Who freakin' knows at this point.

The global economy could MAYBE handle the US shutting down for 2 weeks. 4 - 8? No ****ing way.

We're heading for a depression. No doubt about it in my mind.

Since my business is in manufacturing and we are a tier 1 supplier, we are going to be severely effected by this outbreak. Most of the work cannot be done remotely.
