For some reason a bought a new gortex rain jacket...dont know why, my old one is fine and I cant wear two at once lol

But I guess I can leave one in the boat and keep the other in my truck full time lol

Ya DJI probably does share data with China. I personally dont own a drone from them (I have an autel evo and parrot anafi) but they are the biggest by far.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of drones are made by Chinese drone manufacturers. Still, DJI makes nice drones.

I’m certainly not a drone owner operator, and as much as I’ll avoid buying Chinese made and/or sourced products, there will be situations where it can’t be avoided.

I just recently heard about Chinese drones reporting data back home, and found it interesting. Surely drones are only one of many Chinese products spying on us. It feels like they’ve played the ultimate Trojan horse campaign.

Ya drones are one of those industries that are so fully dominated by the Chinese, it is tough to find a product not made by them.

Like you said, I'm sure most Chinese companies spy since I think it is required they share whatever the Chinese government requests.

I doubt they have much of a choice about keeping the data they confidential.

Not sure if you're recreational flying you really need a 107. If you're under 400' not really much of an issue unless you're in a landing path of a local airport, in which case the DJI software won't let you fly anyway. If you're serious about the 107 check out FAA Drone Certification Test Prep | Drone Pilot Ground School. Little pricey (my company paid) but I'd say 1/3 of the test questions were questions in their practice tests. Got a like a 95 in just over a hour. Or PM me might have some of the practice tests laying around ;) Took like 2-3 nights of studying but without prep I'd see it taking awhile trying to figure out what to expect. Anyway....

Stupid purchases...
Picked up a 3rd Acer Z321QU before you can't get them so I have matching monitors. Nice entry level monitor if you want 144+Hz, 1440 and G-Sync. Better on the market but when you're buying 3....
Next trying to figure out if I want a TS-XW wheel or just step up and blow my wad on a Fanatec Clubsport. Fanatec is definetly the way to go but at ~$1300 for a set up starts to make my question how much I'll really use it.
Always liked Forza but racing with a controller is trash. Not sure if I want to dump the Fanatec coin not already being deep in the hobby. TS-XW might be a comprise. Although I keep getting the "If you cheap out it will suck and you won't use it" feeling.

Recreational probably. I can see possible commercial. I looked at the Part 107 and it looks fairly easy to get if Im in the mood for a test or two and spend money.

Everything is run through china telecom which is technically a "publicly traded" corporate but come on, its china. They monitor all that shit, further there are no purely public companies in china and they all have some level of involvement with the government. If you want to do business in china they will have access to all of your data.

My company just did a gigantic roll out there right before the 'rona hit, the amount of hoops the ccp makes you jump through in order to do anything is ridiculous.

Yeah, that's another thing I never looked into. I feel I'll be fine flying in in front of my house and simply practice stuff, but if I want to go to a beach and get some high shots, or some video of my car...then just maybe it makes sense to get the license.
I have a Mavic Pro 2 and if your with in a 2 mile radius of any airspace you wont be able to even get it off the ground.... at least mine wont lol

Yup new update helped a little with that. I live on LI Airports everywhere, I know the struggle.

So bought a race wheel yesterday, loving it... got tapped in to go back to work Monday. So much for my dreams of being a professional racing driver. That government teet was so tasty too.
