2010 GT500 on stock 19" rims. The more I read about TPMS sensors, the more I'm not liking them. Mine are 10 years old. I want a real valve stem, and want to ditch the TPMS sensors. Some sanctioning racing bodies, flat out ban them. Other members here have documented failures due to high speeds, and damage caused during tire installation.

So now I want to go back to a racing approved valve stem. I will either FORscan, or through an emulator, disable the idiot light.

Does a TPMS light on, interfere or disable ABS, stability control, or traction control?

Can anyone recommend a specific manufacturer, size, and stem that will work with the stock 19" SVT wheels? I'm sure there are a lot of you out there with direct experience in this subject.

Also, can anyone recommend an TPMS emulator? I have seen a few advertisements, but not sure how trustworthy they are, as some are international companies.

Thanks in advance!

I can't help you with getting rid of the TPMS but the metal stems I use with mine are the Dill VS-925A in aluminum. The VS-925B and C are black and chrome respectively.

I got mine at Advance Auto Parts.

Are racing your car? going near 200mph regularly? generating more than 2G in corners?
I don't see the concern here, just because its not allowed in racing does not mean its not safe. Racing is a whole different thing than street cars. As long as you get the right part you shouldn't have any problems.

I have been running a drag radial on the rear of my car for a couple of months. They have TPMS sensors installed but we couldn't get the PCM to "acquire" them using the trigger tool, so I am currently running with the TPMS light on and have to reset the message every time I start the car. That being said, other than the annoying message and the amber idiot light, no issues with the traction control, etc. being involved or effected that I am aware of after many spirited driving experiences including several runs into the 140+MPH range. So your concern there should be covered.
