Respect is earned. There might be people in this world who bow to authority, but **** that. I'd shoot a mother****er in the face before kneeling.

People need to settle down. Police are doing there jobs the best they can. Some go a little harder than the next. Me personally being a marine thinks they are to soft. Killing George Floyd might not have been the best idea but it happened get over it. If you break the law you are subject to paying the price. If you resist the arresting officer your ass is there’s plane and simple. These people in protest need to worry about themselves and get jobs to better society rather than making my point when they go out and taunt the police like idiots. I say get the hose out like we did in the Corp and wash them all back. Works every time

Holy mackerel bud, that's a scary attitude, maybe good for the battlefield, but not for local community streets. I sincerely hope you're not a cop, but it saddens me to think there are many cops with exactly that primitive mindset. I support the rule of law and all that, but the police are NOT an occupying force. There's a HUGE difference between being in a war zone and 'policing' a community of American citizens living under the protection of our esteemed Constitution.

Just the other night, a bunch of local cops screeched up in 3 squad cars, and then proceeded to harass and scare the Hell out of a local woman in her 70's. Her 'crime'? Some idiot neighbor had called and said she might not have quarantined.

Our system is badly broken and needs to be revised.

Saying "police work is a tough job" isn't just a cliche, it's the truth. It's a job where you're literally and figuratively spat on all day long. All humans have a breaking point, many handle it better than others. The fixes need to come from both sides, not just with the police.

Maybe it's because of the ungodly amounts of white privilege oozing from me... But I've always been of the opinion to listen when commanded by a police officer and give them the respect they deserve whether I did something wrong or not. I've been cleaned up before when I did nothing wrong and it worked itself out... If you just do what you're told and be respectful it will get sorted out. If you choose to be disrespectful and non-compliant things can go wrong and you don't know the officer that you're dealing with and what type of person they are so I've always been the type to err on the side of caution. I'm guessing that 99.9% of public fatalities related to conflict with officers would have never happened or could have been avoided with that type of attitude. Oh not to mention that over two times as many white people are killed by police officers each year as compared to black people... I haven't seen any riots over that. So this hyped up sensationalism that the media has given this and their seeming support of the riots that have going on is sickening. I have a cousin that's half black and played rugby with several other black man... I'm wait so I can't exactly identify with what they go through but they are looked at in it in a different light than white people by some cops. That is terrible and worth talking about but if people are just generally compliant and respectful with officers right from the start shit like this doesn't happen. This shit is totally avoidable.
