I have been watching prices of used vehicles closely since the beginning of this year, wanting to get something to replace my Hellcat. Prices have been ridiculous on used vehicles, but people are buying them as fast as they are listed.

Everyone and their brother is listing POS rust buckets for insane prices on Craigslist.

I am hoping that when the bubble bursts I will have my pick of the litter and save Thousands $$$ at the same time.

Maybe.

OR, a lot of people will decide they don't want to part ways with their vehicles that's dropped $5k overnight...and just hold on to it.

That was my plan too, but like Nick said they might just hold on to them. Hopefully the new car production gets back online and prices drop back to deal levels when they have an overstock, but that might take 2 years at this point.

Wife and I are having same debate. Her Jeep is paid off, my f150 will be in a year. Having 2 trucks would be so useful. I’ll be visiting Nick soon to test drive the 7.3 f250 he has on its way haha
@13COBRA right! I am pushing her to take my 2020 F150, we sell the van and i can use that $ towards a F250 as we have a toyhauler and for its size it really needs a 3/4 ton at least.

It's ridiculous right now...dudes are getting $22-25k checks from Carvana for 11-14 GTs with 30k miles on them.

My super clean 11 with same miles I had a hard time selling for $22.5k SIX YEARS AGO.

Webuyanycar wrote me a check for my C6 that was the same as I paid for it 6 months prior...but with a little engine tick that developed.

I'm in a situation now where I want a used PP2 or 40-50k mile GT350, or even a 13 Boss, but the prices have gone absolutely bat shit.

Don't even get me started on the two wheel used market right now lol.

Definitely noticed the drastic rise lately. I bought my daily at the perfect time I think. In Late May when everything was on the cheaper side.

I don't need a new truck. Mine is exactly what I need and is a '15 with 78,000 miles and gets very little miles that I'm now WFH.

That said, it's really hard to pass on the value of the used market and some of the incentives on new. I could buy a 2020 now and be set for 10+ years.

Toys are the same way.

My wife's parents bought a small camper trailer 2 years ago from a dealer for $7500. Didn't do any repairs or anything to it. Just used the shit out of it, from CO to OR twice, and to TX 3 times, sold it on Craigslist a month ago for $11,500.

The way RV lots sold almost all their inventory still just blows my mind. The dichotomy between people who are crazy busy and people who are hurting is just crazy.

Ask any dealer who sells used cars how they can increase business, and they'll say "just get me more vehicles. I can sell them if I can get them." The used car market took off even harder after new vehicle inventory started drawing down while factories were closed. That inventory is only just now coming back into the pipeline, so the used market remains red hot.
