Dude on a YouTube channel I occasionally watch sold his with a couple thousand miles on it for a healthy profit. Is this the first time in history that a brand new car was actually a short term investment? o_O

I got my deposit down earlier this year. Looking at a Spring Delivery in 2021. I kick myself now for waiting an extra 5 months to see one in person before I plopped down my deposit.

I would happily take a $15-$25k profit and then place a deposit for a 2022 Z06

Paying 30k over sticker for one of these that will be a dime a dozen is no time and depreciation is SO dumb.

That being said, it may be a good opportunity. Does anyone here know if they are taking deposits on Z06? I will seriously consider taking a chance on a deposit and then "flipping" it.

Asking vs getting are two different things, but someone on reddit recently got his, like a week ago, listed it, and accepted...either 15 or 20K over this grand total price.

Only dealers that may be working that far ahead would be Macmulkin, Kerbeck, and possibly Criswell.

I thought about placing a deposit for a Z06 in addition to my Stingray. its fully refundable up to the point when your order goes into the system. So, I get my Stingray early 2021, use it for a year, when the order time comes up for the Z, make the choice...

In (3) years they will be $50k lol...... Like all Vettes and Mustangs there are like 10 zillion of them made and none of them hold their value very well so to pay $30k over is plain dumb!

Its exotic looking and lots of Corvette owners have more money than sense so not surprising....

GT500 ADM's are right there, if not worse. I guess people are paying it...

Resale should be better though down the line.

I don't even understand the hype. Its ugly as shit. Looks like a design that Ferrari would have scrapped.

Yep, a red one was at a car show I attended on Sunday. It got very little attention.

Gen 2 Raptors are another.

Especially if you got one in 17/18 without a markup.

Yep. I learned my lesson the hard way. Bought my 03 Roush brand new in Nov of 02. Paid full price. It's not worth S#!T right now. I'll never buy a brand new or a dealer mark up vehicle EVER again...……..

Your buying that Roush new was the mistake. Had you bought a 03 Cobra you would be having a different outlook. I did the same thing in 2001, bought a new Saleen. Beautiful car, but the drop in value compared to my 03 Cobra was quite significant. Maybe in the long run for you it will climb back up, but I doubt it will be anywhere near what the value will be for 03/04 cobras.

I think it looks pretty good, I can already tell they are going to be everywhere. 2 months ago I had seen 1 of them, like a week ago I saw at least 5 in one day.

Exactly. I wish I bought a brand new 03 Cobra instead. However, I did end up getting two 03 Cobras later in life. So, I didn't pay sticker for the Cobras, but have them now. So, believe me, I learned my lesson hind sight being 20/20 LOL.

Winter Haven huh? I bought my Roush down the road at Brandon Ford LOL.

Craziest recession ever, some people crushed, others so busy they can't believe it.

Bonkers used car market.

For amusement purposes I browse GT350's online regularly...bonkers is a great description!

For example, in the spring you could score a 2017 GT350 with less than 20k miles on it for $42k - $45k. These cars are up for sale for $50k+ now! WTF?!?!?!?!?

I don't know how much it sold for, but a local dealer just sold a 2016 yellow GT350 with tech pack (no track pack) and ~30k miles. Asking price was $51k but again, not sure how much it sold for. It was a certified used car but that is literally the shittiest 350 you can get (2016 w/no track pack).

I wouldn't even consider buying it. Plus, that car is a $39k car on a good day.
