I was watching a show on Motor Trend, and they were interviewing a few people. One of which was KJ Jones (remember him from 5.0 magazine?). He mentioned something about Ford reaquiring the Excursion name. KJ is apparently the editor of a diesel magazine now.
That was the first I heard of this, but maybe its old news?

This Expedition is already out and hasn’t ceased production.

Ford Excursion Trademark Gets Renewed

Aluminum body, 10 speed auto, Direct and port variant of the Godzilla 7.3 and honestly it would do really well. I imagine that they have a bunch of people look at the Expedition saying "its a nice SUV, but we need it to tow MORE and tow it easier."

As an Excursion owner, Im curious to see what they do.

Hell my wife and I were thinking after the Explorer we’d look into the Expedtion but if the Excursion were to come back we for sure would look into that instead.

They sure did. Hell, clean AZ examples of the 7.3l powerstroke Excursions are going for 30k.

A 6.7 Powerstroke in a new Excursion would be bad ass. I'd take the 7.3 Godzilla just for simplicity's sake.

I just wish the 6.7 didn’t have such Poopy towing mileage.

I get 7-8 mpg towing a man lift in my work truck. I mean I can’t complain but 10 would be nice haha

TFL truck has that towing mileage loop that they test the trucks on, they are a bunch of goobers so it's a bit tough to watch but the 6.7 PSD did the best loaded, and unloaded and was also the quickest of all 3.

I think Ford did their homework on the 6.7, my 2015 duramax won't even spin the tires if I stomp the throttle from a stop and both 6.7s I've driven would do it even while rolling at 20 or so.

I can't see it with Ford wanting to go greener and cut down on unproductive cars. They can just keep making the expedition max for the people who want a bigger SUV than the standard expedition.

I get 11-12 mpg towing my 24' enclosed with a 2500 lb car in it. if I keep the truck under 70 I can get better than 12.

No trailer I get a solid 15.9 to 16.1

I am very proud of my 17 f250. Drove to west VA and back over 4 days through the mountains and averaged 17.8. Put an open trailer on it and get 14.5.
