Just freshening some stuff up? Or did something break?

well i only wanted to replace the primary timing chain tensioners because i was getting a rattle on start up, and i was originally planning to do it with the engine in the car. but the more i got into it and realized that you have to remove the coolant crossover in order to pull the timing cover (so, the blower too?), i just said the hell with it and decided to pull the whole motor. and like you say maybe freshen up other things too since it has 130k. i think am going to lock-n-stitch all the holes while it's out and also maybe do an abs delete block.

And drop on a 2.3, bigger injectors, bigger MAF....since you're there......

Went to fire up Christmas day and "click"....battery dead 9 volts. A bxt59 I bought 35 months ago. Took it back yesterday to the dealer....and I'll be damned....just barely under the 36 month warranty time so full replacement. Woohoo. Glad it crapped out now and not another month
Crazy. Think I've had my motorcraft for 8-9 years. Keep thinking I should just replace it, but tests good.

Oh I'd keep rolling with it if it's working! Can't really explain why this one crapped out so soon, could be just bad luck or the quality has gone down. It's on a maintenance charger 24/7.....but over the years I'm driving less and less. I'd say that's not good for battery longevity.

I remember the original "cyclops" bxt59s that came in the terminators people would report ten plus years of service! I miss that little condition indicator window lol

This made me purchase another battery as the OG was 15 years old before it kicked. Hopefully the MotorCraft replacement lives up to it’s brother’s reputation.

Timing was perfect for the old one to die. Sort of a Christmas present to ya!
