Care to elaborate a little?

Sure, do you have to take it? If I care about you we text, call or see you. For work zoom, discord, ring what ever other bullshit depending on if its official or fun (therefore recorded, no memes) talking in real-time. Only people I post up and read are you mugs.

Not being an asshole. Just anti Facebook and their bullshit. Nothing political, just think the concept is flawed or maybe the implementation/implications. Youtube at the least shares knowledge. How to vid, Khan, etc. Facebook just spreads rumors, digitize the worst part of middle school and perpetuates it through our adult lives. If you really gave a shit, family wise you would send me a pic not post and tag. Just lazy and impersonal.

I can't agree more. No I don't have to take it and neither does anyone else. It's a garbage platform to say the least.

I asked because I assumed you were refering to their decision to ban me for 3 days. I should have pulled the plug then honestly.

I've been "online " since early 90s. Started with a university email, because I was a computer science major, where I subbed to email based car/groups, and USENET. Loved it. Flaming and name calling was minimal, never political. Myspace? Lol! The rest of the crap that followed, same reaction. Went from a flip phone, from 2007 until 2013. Bought a used S2. Then in 2018, an S8. First thing I did was disable all the crap. 99% of the time my phone is on the counter charging. It's basically my "land line" at this point. **** your "Ok Boomer" jokes, I'm in my 40s. SVT is my only "social media" outlet. Believe it or not.

Edit: Also no: LinkedIn, Twitter, IG, Tik Tok, Pinterest, Bixby, Google/Samsung Cloud, blah blah blah. My digital footprint, is smaller than Biden's IQ. I'd uninstall all this bloatware, but ATT won't let me.

Nowadays when it comes to cell phones, you're a user and not the admin. Ridiculous you can't control all the apps on your phone unless you jailbreak/root it (and risk turning it in to a brick)

I stopped using Facebook years ago. I still have a personal account but only use it with the Marketplace to sell stuff.

Never have or will join ANY social media site.
Anyone I care about I stay in contact with via e-mail.
I do visit / post on ( 11 ) Mustang flavored sites & ( 2 ) F150 sites..
Based on this thread, I'm not missing much & didn't make the wrong decision..

It's a toxic cesspool.

I only visit a couple car groups, meat smoking groups, the market place, and Anything Wrecked.

Squeezed out with help from the svtperformance.com mobile app

IF and its a big IF I go back to it in any form it will only be for those things and nothing more. At that point I'll probably completely dump my friends list or cut it down to just my wife and mom.

Even some of those car groups can be retarded though and moderated poorly.

I dumped Facebook.

I had to reassign my business pages to other employees so they didn't get deleted as well, which is frustrating, but I get it; Facebook wants to be able to verify identities (right or wrong).

I won't miss it.

What's all this toxicity you guys experienced with social media? I'm on FB and I subscribe to a few different news channels in Vegas, Florida, PA and NY as well as some car sites and rock band pages. I honestly don't find anything toxic or mind controlling. If FB wants to spy on me and sell my browsing history go ahead. IDGAF.

I don't think it's all that toxic. You choose who you see, and who you don't see.

I got rid of it for several reasons:

1.) I'm tired of seeing the extremists on both sides of the aisle tear our country apart.
2.) I'm tired of getting messages and questions about work related stuff at all hours of the day, every day of the year. I love helping people, I love my job, but I love my limited family time more than that.
3.) I'm tired of the temptations and questionable situations that arise when random, attractive, women reach out to me or add me as a friend. You can only tell your wife so many times that you have no idea who someone is, or how they got your name, before it starts causing disruptions.
4.) I'm tired of seeing slandered information, or misrepresented information, or plain out falsehoods being pushed as true.
5.) I'm tired of seeing the Facebook sensored button.
6.) I'm tired of feeling like I need to check Facebook throughout the day to make sure I'm not missing a message, or make sure there's not someone I need to help.
7.) I'm tired of all of the ads.
8.) I'm tired of inadvertently getting wrapped up in other people's lives through their pictures, posts, etc.
9.) I'm tired of wasting time on it that I won't ever get back.
10.) I'm tired of seeing all of the Mustang killer memes.

I have trimmed my presence greatly. Mostly in groups that I have interest and keep me up to date on information. But I have thought about ditching them.
