Just pipe in some GT350R soundtrack through the speakers and be done...
Actually I'm surprised Tesla doesn't do that! I mean it makes fart noises, why not any engine sound track you want?

Hell Ford already does that in gas powered cars....

Performance is insane out of those EV cars . I would get one to run the no prep 1/8 mile events , that would make so many people mad LOL . I bet new rules will come out shortly not allowing Telsas to run no prep events
Reminds me of the guy on the Telsa Racing Channel who goes to no preps and kicks ass in his P100D. A lot of hurt feelings!

The performance is undeniable and incredible. I rode in a base Tesla several years ago and the owner wanted to show off.......but it had rained earlier. Not a problem, he said. From a dig on a wet road, it was the most violently accelerating vehicle I've ever been in. There's absolutely no ICE that can compete with that, but it still had the soul of a manila folder.

I own both sorts. They're complements to each other, not substitutes. Want the fastest 0-60 on the planet? Electric's the way. Want to go around a corner? ICE's got a ~1800-lbs weight advantage and there's no comparison. Want a near-silent freeway cruise at 80 MPH? Electric. Want the roar of 8 cylinders on command? Fire up that Mustang.

I think electric cars are The Future, but much like people often prefer manual transmissions in the age of the DSG, I expect ICE cars will be around for my lifetime.

It's fast for sure, and maybe I stand alone in my opinion, but those cars have no personality, I love the way my GT500 sounds on cold start and rowing through the gears getting on the highway, the smell of E85 and the list goes on. Yes that tesla would drag my ass and I'm sure it's a rocket from a dig. But it honestly does nothing for me.

You are not alone. I don't give a shit how quick and fast they are, don't care. That ****ing toaster could orbit the moon, there is a lot more to a car than pure performance. Exhaust note, engine screaming, supercharger whining, smell of the gasoline and the feel of all that mechanical sexiness. Impressive performance, no doubt, but there is nothing about that, that gets my engine revving.

Agree 100% and my boredom factor started when the GTR came out...TO ME it goes for Mclarens, Ferraris, Lambos anything that hauls ass that just goes straight after you stab it and sorta steer it...Boring with a capital B...I appreciate the engineering and what they all do but anyone with the $$$ and can get financed can go fast...No challenge and no individual personality...I've always loved going fast and the rush of it all but you might as well be in passenger seat and just sit there and go along for the ride...I've always loved shifting and driving the car just for the fun of it...It's like the old Twilight Zone episode when 2 gunslingers square off, both drink a little thimble of a serum from a snake oil salesman and they both shoot each other in their gun hand....Just line up 2 of any of the same car and they both run side by side down the road.

Such BS, "ICE would never do that" Maybe you need a ride in a Twin Turbo V8. Combine with AWD. So tired of this golf cart BS. Just because Ford gives us eco crap doesn't mean a piston vehicle can't rock and roll a electric motor. 1200-1500rwhp is more than obtainable in ICE format. The big three giving us what we want is a different story. The plan is to get people into electric and then limit the battery and power levels because "green". If we don't wake the F up quick we are headed into crapsville. wake the F up! Don't buy electric garbage. What we spend our $ on is what dictates our future.

Sorry, but AWD alone wont accomplish this. Why do you think nothing can keep up with these cars from 0-60 on the street?
AWD as you refer to it vs AWD in a Tesla where torque control can be altered on the fly to each axle (or wheel soon) is a huge advantage that ICE vehicle simply do not have today.

If it was as easy as you make it sound, there'd be tons of cars with sub 2.5 0-60 times on the street, but thats not the case.

Forget Tesla for a moment. Look at Porsche.
Nothing they build, as the masters of AWD, can keep up with their top of the line Taycan to 60 MPH. Period.

Agreed. It's nice to have options. My Mach-E will be my daily, my Shelby is my night/weekend, my crew cab diesel 4x4 for hauling and camping, and my old hot rod for nostalgia.

For 120k, (taxes and dealership fees extra), it better run 9's . lol
Is this the same as the "Plaid" edition or are they different?

How many 1,500 hp AWD daily driver ICE cars are currently on the market?

I’d still put my money on the Tesla on a wet road.

But I’d absolutely prefer to have the Hoonigan in my garage.

Edited to add, I just turned in my 2018 S6 today. TT V8 AWD.

Annnnnd, there’s a Lambo dealership across the street with folks taking test drives. Stopped me in my tracks like I was 8 years old every time they passed. :)

That would have never happened if it was a Tesla dealership.

Ok gang...need your help. Would you replace the Trackhawk for this? It would be my dd and I would still have the zr1 when I wanted to flex my nutsack hair. Lol
I would absolutely do that. I personally would love to have a plaid to daily and be able to tool around with but like many in here I think I’d also want a very analog weekend car.

Maybe someone can educate me....

Did tesla drop prices on their cars?

Last I knew, the P100D optioned out was over 125K and ran maybe low 10's. Now this is a questionable "9 second car" and is less money? Something doesn't compute...

This is the plaid.
The ‘coming soon’ plaid plus is said to go sub 1.99 to 60 mph and run 8s.

out of curiosity what kind of range would you get? Im thinking popping off a couple 8sec passes ought to be kinda draining on the battery
