This 100X, even he as a buyer pussed out because he wasn't willing to pony up the dough to buy a GT500. So he went the other route and now dogs Ford.

You're off the rails now. The Challenger I bought and the GT500 were a horse apiece when it came to price.

We'll never know. The EV mandates will be coming fast and furious now.

Yessir you are correct. Honestly if they had offered an aluminum big block for the S550 I probably would have bought one, for what I paid for my loaded out car i could have scaled back on options and gotten that instead. Initially i was gonna do the Roush blower package instead, but the dealer who does them wanted way above what i budgeted to buy that and have anything besides a base and manual car. Their inventory was low and prices were high so I compromised and now im pissed you brought up what might have been

dodge sells to everyone with a pulse. I see more ghetto out Chargers and Challengers than i do Mustangs. When i do see Mustangs its usually people with disposable income driving them as a second car whereas the Dodge owners are usually lucky to pay that note.
Alternative View.

Maybe those "ghetto have a pulse types" are what we would call "Low IQ Buyers".

Their overall knowledge of the market place is minimal and heavily influenced by advertising and influencers.

So they see badass Mopars in commercials. They see bad ass Mopars in rap videos, Instagram and in movies (FNF Franchise). So when it comes to buying a badass car... They go looking for that Hellcat and get qualified for that V6 or R/T.

Mustang never hits their radar.

As for qualifying, I swee Ford advertising and selling to anyone with a pulse as well. Dodge is able to handout huge discounts because there running good margins on an old paid off chassis.

True, but replacing stuff that is known versus from scratch is a different kettle of fish cost wise.

Yes

You could make a strong case for the approach FCA has taken vs. Ford/GM in this segment. This is without a doubt a shrinking market, with each maker fighting for an ever shrinking piece of the pie. FCA has been able to keep their models fairly relevant (very consistent sales) for more than a decade with relatively modest investment, and leveraging their shared platform scale. Ford and GM on the other hand, drop many hundred of millions, if not billions on developing new versions, only to see sales fall off a cliff after years 3-5, then stumble through the next ~5 yrs, start over and repeat. Ford not having a shared platform adds a lot of cost and complexity at their current volumes.

You got me on that one. Ford does need to step up with the advertising. I see Ram commercials everywhere to the point the TRX is looking like something i would buy

I see a lot of “rice” out ecoboost cars that look like F&F and driver is usually some wannabe street racer.
