I was thinking new GT500. But I couldn’t tell if it was a 1 or 2 piece rotor. That’s the biggest 22inch brake rotor I’ve ever seen. Haha.

Are they a major consumable? What’s the life span of ceramic rotors in a track setting assuming pads are mitigated properly?
Carbon ceramics actually make more sense in a street setting than they do on track.

They last forever if they aren't overheated.

Assuming you aren't made of money.

You would pick up 10x's the performance by putting a set of slicks on the car for $2000.

Absolutely. Weighing over 4000#, and depending on the track, I bet you could burn through a set of rotors in as little as ten 20 minute sessions.

wow, ok I didn’t know that. Yea forget that then lol. Ultimately 5k is better put towards seat time and tires anyway as anyone who’s done a track day of any type know. Thankfully I doubt very few are over running that stick brake set up so it’s still a win.

Even with ABS programming, those brakes look capable of outperforming the grip of the tire. Just WOW.

Also, if you have to ask the price of a brake job you cant afford that car. Lol

Funny thing is wholesale on those brakes is probably no more than $1500 for rotors, calipers, pads, and hardware. I bought a nearly identical setup although for the GT350R and at wholesale costs came out to $1100.

Now I really wonder what the price is. The rotors look like 2pc rotors.

Even if they are $1000 brake job if they only last 10k on the street and less if the car is tracked, that's still a high cost for the average car owner.

But damn would I love the braking power!

They look like the same brand 2 piece rotor that is on the GT350. I bumped up the price estimation since the GT500's brakes are bigger, but the supplies are the same manufacturer so I'm betting pricing hasn't changed much between them. Did I mention it was $1100 for both front and rear?

It's just wild because if you want to buy aftermarket Brembo setups for a Mustang you are looking at $4500 for just the front or rear.

I cant even tell you how many times I had LS460 Touring, ISF, GSF, GS and IS F-Sport owners decline brake jobs because of the 4 figure repair quote. 6 Pot Brembo brake parts for Lexus are apparently made of gold haha.

This reminds me my brakes started squealing on my LS430 beater the other day.

I'll check on them.. Sometime. lol

I think it's more than that...

I don't have access to the parts prices at this time but you should have your parts guys take a look at what they are going for. Most of the GT350/GT500 distinct parts are super expensive, but the brakes were the big surprise I found when the GT350 came out.

Another seamless transaction with Nick!. He even showed me you have to use the line lock to do a burnout, you can’t just do a brake stand as it seems like it goes into launch mode.

will be 1000hp soon. Just need to put a few more miles on it before it gets molested but the parts are standing by.

I "assume" they are like the GT350R big brake kit, but only a little better??

I want/like to purchase the GT350R big brake kit for my car one day,.........one day. lol Gotta get new wheels/tires first, although I would rather get the brake kit first. Needs a very specific offset to accompany those massive calipers. We'll see. It crazy money for the wheels/tires/brakes. Yugggeeee money actually. lol

I researched upgrading to the 13-14 brakes when i first bought my car. Saw the price then I looked at my 4 pot Brembos and thought to myself.... yeah I'm good lmao

if it means anything the 20+ gt500 group on FB is very concerned about my warranty and it not being broken in properly.
Bunch of 60 year olds with garage queens lol

I'll cover anything under warranty for you...at least for the next week or two haha
