Never but lately I've been holding back on high speed corners and I'm buying a Naked Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Misano edition. I wanna be more comfortable when I'm riding but don't want a cruiser... I'm never getting rid of my Panigale 1299!!!

I have not ridden since my 20's (90's). However have renewed my license ever since, if I ever wanted to again, but its unlikely. Have too many cars.

I gave up riding... for now. Sold my 848Evo a couple years ago, but I still miss it and still miss riding. I'll ride again when I get in a better position to spend money on a toy.

Gave up after 3 years and 12,000 miles of riding a 600 crotch rocket. I was always a speed demon, and a bike was the cheapest way to go fast! Learning to ride came easy. Picked it up in no time.

One thing made me quit though:

I was riding totally normal, around 45mph. I crested a normal hill, and the front wheel, it didn't get air, unweighted just enough, that I entered into a severe tank slapper! I held on as tight as I could, even thought about bailing off, and somehow rode out of it! No idea how I held on. I quit that day, and placed an ad for the bike.

That day I realised that even doing nothing wrong, you can still go down. My brother wrecked his ZX7 after hitting a ground hog at 40mph! I also realized that I liked doing other things MORE in life, than riding, and the risk of death or injury is real on a bike. Had riding been the most important hobby to me, I'd continue to ride. I eventually bought fast cars, so bikes are an afterthought now.

Also, between work, rain, cold, and 8 months of winter, I just wasn't getting out as much as I would have liked. This was a secondary reason for quitting though.

My buddies bike when I went pick it up from the impound lot. He got brake checked, grabbed a handful of brakes, endo-flipped the bike into the car that checked him up on 45 North..

Didn't get brake checked, but I had a Grand Cherokee pull out in front of me less than a week after getting my bike and before I had gotten my endorsement. I grabbed a whole lot of front brake to avoid this Jeep that saw me after pulling out and the woman kept making all the wrong moves to try and get out of my way. I went up into a rolling stoppie that I believe even included the front wheel locking up and skidding as well as I remember seeing tire smoke as I looked down at the ground. I let off the front but had to get back on it again to avoid this Jeep and it briefly went up again but I managed to save it. Talk about a butt-pucker moment due to inexperience and unfamiliarity with the bike. Those brakes grabbed hard!

Rode dirt from age 4 moved to street and dirt when 20 -rode for probably 15 years on the street, stopped riding street when a car pulled out n front of me and i T-boned it but didn't get seriously hurt just split my junk open when i hit the tank on a CBR 900 ( i asked my wife how do you get a 3 inch cut on a 2 inch peter lol). Well i had a 3 year old at the time and the wife said no more street riding, long story short when riding dirt bikes i tried to get hurt just about every time i rode, with a hourly job it was a no-go missing pay checks lol,so now i have a slow 4 wheeler ( Honda rubicon).
SIDE NOTE - - common theme - - there are 2 kinds of street riders those that have laid 1 down and those that will - - guys pay attention and be safe!

After high school I wanted to get a bike until my mother gave me a tour of her workplace. She was the director of nursing at a long term care facility in SE PA and she pointed to specific people as we walked around--all of whom had been in motorcycle accidents. It scared me straight. Nonetheless the past few years I've been itching to get a bike but I would never take it on the road with other vehicles. A closed track would be fun or, if maybe one day I move to a small town where the speed limit is 25 I might go on the road with it. Drivers here in Vegas are terrible.

I developed a habit of looking at the rearview mirrors of vehicles I was coming up on. If I could see eyes in their rearview, I went around them around 10 mph faster than them. If it was a semitruck or I couldn't see eyes, I got around fast as I could.

I'd always be scanning at least 4-5 cars up ahead too.

I just got into riding this year at 33yo. 2020 R6, already flashed the ECU and added header back exhaust at 60 miles on the bike lol.

I’ll continue to ride with full gear, and within my limits to reduce risk as much as I can.

Who did the flash? Love the Leo exhaust, one of my favorites for the R6. Had an 09 I ram as a track bike built to the hilt except for engine work. I was lucky to have a buddy in jersey that opened a shop and got the hook up on a lot of nice parts. Such a predictable and enjoyable bike.

my advice, suspension, the singular best thing I did was ohlins.

I picked up the habit of watching my mirrors when stopped at traffic lights, stop signs, etc. I got rear ended by an older guy in a minivan. He didn't hit me that hard so no injuries but several grand in damage to the bike. Since then I added more brake lights and the flashing module. Hopefully it gets a little more attention than the stock setup

I've got brand new Dainese leathers, boots, and a brand new helmet. Intended to get back into riding last year and just haven't...real shame.

Hahaha I had a feeling it was Corbo. Great dude, he’s who I did my first track days with. Used to garage up with him and a bunch of other guys that became a regular crew at NJMP. I remember when he first started Bauce Racing here was one of the first iterations of my bike with basic bolt ons and his tune work

I stumbled upon him by mistake. Again being 100% new to motorcycles, but it looks like I made the right choice based on what I hear about their positive reputation.
