Ticks me off that we no longer have many great car venues like that up here. :(

There ARE "some" good things about living in CA.

Sorry to hear that bob, this will be the 1st time for me at the new Venue. I really liked when it was held at Knotts berry's Farm because of the location. Hotels, Disneyland, PCH, lots of food choices in the area. Also we use to have a huge cruise down with 100+ cars too.

I'm registered, but not 100% sure I'll be there. I'll have family in town and my daughter graduates the following day. Who knows, it might be my excuse to get away from the family.

How long have you been going? Were you around in say 2010-2012?
The new "venue" looks like it lost its touch honestly. On a Sunday??

It was so much fun Friday cruising around the night before the show in Buena Park.

Yup i was around back in 2008 and was going regularly till about 2017. We would have a meet up Friday morning around 330am and have a couple meet ups in between with the Cruise to Knotts we use to call it. Then there was pretty much events on Friday night, then events for Saturday, then the show Sunday. Typically monday some of us would do Disneyland , Universal, magic mountain.

I heard when they moved it , either 2018 or 2019 the turn out was less. Think its was angel stadium. Not 100%. Sure.

Yeah, they tried Angel stadium. It wasn't too bad really. It had a lot of potential. It could've easily turned into a weekend long event. Not sure how I feel about Irwindale yet.

The show has always been on Sunday. I've been going since 2005.

I would of thought the location was still good at Angel stadium because it was basically a couple miles away from knots. Lots of hotels and good choices. Was there events for the whole weekend still going on?

I went to the last one at Angel's Stadium and it was a good turnout but it was hot as hell, I miss the ones at Knotts berry's Farm, it was such a great show and so many good cruises down the PCH. I honestly have no interest going to a event in June.

I'm sure people still showed up early for other events. I didn't pay attention to be honest. I just cruised up Sunday morning for the show with a couple friends.

That's right. I had asked my wife after I posted.

Ya, we probably came close to rubbing elbows, especially if you walked through the snake pit. Mine and my wifes car made 5.0 mag with coverage of the show.

Great show I miss going. Lived in San Diego and I went every year from about 2007 to my last in 2011. Loved the snake pit. Also got to meat the designer of a new edge I liked in a magazine. One of the only things I miss about that shit hole state.

Also why the venue change from Knotts berry?

They expanded the water park so a lot of the parking lot was taken up. I think there were issues with the cost for security and stuff as well. But I might be confusing that with Anaheim.

Ah ok makes sense. That was such a cool venue. I remember driving up early having a good time and hitting Dave and busters on the way home

Im sure we did. The snake pit was awesome. Those that were lucky to be in there. I remember the same cars would be in the same spots a few years in a row.

Sweet, making mag is always cool.

Most of the fun for us was the early morning cruise. Starting from just us leaving SD and then seeing and rolling with the other cars as we got closer to the show.

Everyone used to make fun of us for having the snake pit. But they were sure quick to hang out with us in the shade when the sun was up.

I was working for FEMA/SBA in 1994 and was sent to Southern California to run a few of the last remaining Rodney King files but was really sent there for damage from the recent Northridge earthquake. I had heard of the event at Knotts Berry via magazines but wasn't aware that it was taking place not far from where I was initially sent.

I was meeting with people at numerous locations to verify damage and noticed a shit ton of Fords all of a sudden that were all heading to the same area. There it was, Knotts. I parked and immediately heard someone yelling for me to hurry. They held a fence open to let people in the back way so I gladly obliged. What an event! Lindsay Wagner was there signing autographs, as was Steve Saleen. I recognized Jim Bell (from Kenne Bell) and had a lengthy conversation with him. A guy walks over and gets into the conversation and I recognized him too, Mark Sanchez from AEW. Great guys that were extremely friendly. Never forget that. The sea of Ford iron was never ending.

Angel Stadium was superior based on the Ford new vehicle test drives and ride alongs in the Shelby cars.

Shade sucked (so does Knott’s for the most part) and no food/beverage vendors outside of a hand full of trucks.
