Putting bullets in the heads of foreign cyber criminals who attack US critical infrastructure will solve the problem.
Just what we we need, more forever wars. Also you're assuming it's foreign based on who's Intel?

Hope they start filling stations back up soon. We’re on vacation in Top Sail NC until Friday morning. Hope we can make it out of here back to Illinois.

Costco here in Lincoln, Nebraska:
$2.72 for 87 octane
$2.89 for 91 octane
$2.69 for diesel

E85 from the Phillips 66's around here is usually around $2.09 a gallon.

Since this attack is linked directly to a Russian group, it is not an assumption.

You are right though, ignoring these attacks and allowing Russia and China to our infrastructure and steal our IP without repercussion has worked out so well for the United States.

In case you missed it, they are at war with us and we are not fighting back.

Who told you it's a "Russian Group"?

Not saying to ignore Chinese attacks. But I am saying tap the brakes and think before saying you want to drone strike some "Russian" in Ukraine who was paid by a NGO who was funded by the DNC to push the Green New Deal and deflect American attention.

In case you missed it, Iraq is going to have Nukes if we don't invade and occupy them for the next 20 years.

The fact that this is instantly "Muh Russia!!!" should cause you to raise an eyebrow. Russia has been the go-to boogeyman for the last 6 years while "Come On! China is nice guys".

Remind me again which country currently has millions in concentration camps and harvests human organs again?

Oh, and which country did we accuse of hacking the election and electing Trump and after a 5 year investigation still can't find an proof of? So far the only proof of election tampering is the DNC colluding with "former" British Intelligence to smear Trump and trigger an FBI investigation based on fabricated "Intel".

Hmmmmm

I watch the firewalls and I assure your ignorant ass that Russia, Iran, N. Korea and China are attacking everything every minute of every day.

There is no myth of the attack. The threat is confirmed and verified.

Continue to stick your head in the sand, but it won’t stop them from attacking.

You know while we are talking about fuel prices. What happened to mid-grade at 10 cents above regular and premium at 20 cents above regular? For the last several years premium is now 70-80 cents a gallon more than regular. Don't know if it is that way every where or just NC but it drives me crazy.

Literally had this same question last week.

Let me know when you figure it out. I started driving in ‘01. Gas was 1.07/1.17/1.27.

By that logic it's roughly 20% more, not 20 cents more. So as the price goes up for regular, the difference between regular and premium should increase.

So $3/Regular would be $3.60 for premium....which is basically where premium is.

Regular is up to $2.89, Premium (91) is 3.39, Diesel $2.99
E85 (testing at 85%) $1.89

Just one of the old websites I have is under constant attack from overseas. Roughly 240-450k attempted logins daily. That's includes blocking Ip addresses and locking them for 48 hrs after 3 attempts.

The pipeline company should have been able to push backups within a matter of hours if they nearly needed to get systems up and going dirty in a hurry, (dirty =with the threat of the virus remaining on the network.)
It sounds like they had people pull the plug and shut down systems to prevent the spread of the ransomware across the entire company. Which while makes recovery more likely, but it takes more time. Like seeing a low oil pressure light and killing your engine asap, it saves it... But it will take time to tow and examine before running again. Ultimately cheaper than blowing and replacing an engine.

Taking their time to check all hardware and the backups for possible intrusions would add more time, but with professionals and lots of good backups on tape basic critical operations should have been restored in hours, not days. Then have pros monitor and sweep and do cleanup if any traces arise.
As we fall behind in cyberspace and basically have parity with China and Russia I believe the need to isolate such critical systems from the internet is going to be our best bet, as we cannot secure them connected.

You "watch the firewalls". Okay.

So your solution is what, go and drone strike Russian, Iran, NK and China?

Can't even beat some shit hole like Afghanistan into submission and you want to start a war with half the world?

Continue to stick your head in the sand, but it won’t stop them from attacking.

You clearly lack the comprehension skills to understand what I'm saying if that's you're take away from this.

No one, but are you saying you instantly believe everything CNN and Biden tell you?

This is not new, none of this is new. Like the muppets getting their transgendered panties in a wad and making special commissions on election interference when Kkklintoon didn’t win. Russia, China, and others have been trying to hack everything and anything they can. They have been trying to influence our elections. This has been going on for decades.

GTFO with that garbage.

I figure it might be a demand thing too. 20 years ago I there couldn’t have been nearly as many vehicles running mid and premium.

Again, reading comprehension.

1. I'm well aware of the global internet security threat.

2. I'm well aware of the organized, PLA run, industrial espionage campaign by China.
A. Russian, Iran, etc are not nearly as organized in that regard.
B. France and Israel also practice this and we've had many security leaks by Israeli resources.

3. "Russia" is a catch all term anymore. Many hacks originate in other East European countries, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Bulgaria, Georgia, etc.
A. Not everything is at Putin's command
B. Lots of organized cyber crime in East Europe because the countries have smart people and limited local law enforcement resources to give a shit about some foreign countries company getting ripped off.
C. Yes, Russian Government does fund and is directly tied to some of this activity.
D. Some of the 2016 Face Book ads that where blamed on Putin where paid for by Ukrainian shell companies that ultimately had ties to US funded, left leaning NGOs. Hmmmm...

4. Foreign Election Interference has been recorded since the 1920's. News flash - we constantly do it as well.
A. Russia doesn't have a nickel compared to the influence and manipulation China has in US elections.

3. Drone Striking people isn't the answer.
