After my previous thread, I decided to go t56 magnum and started looking around and found a t56 by ford performance. It says that it holds 700ft/lbs of torque, has a 26 spline input shaft and has a 2.97 1st gear ratio just like a magnum but it is made by ford performance. Pretty sure it's not just a regular t56 but the price difference is my main concern cause this is substantially less than other magnums. This listing is on a ford website too so its not a scam or anything, part number is M-7003-M6295

Can you post a photo or two of it? I should be able to tell by the shifter plate whether it's a Magnum T-56.

here's the photo, I just didn't want to go solely off of the photo in case there is an error in the listing but from the photo it looks like a magnum, but if I'm allowed to post links I'll link it cause its a phenomenal deal

that would be a magnum with the 6 bolt shifter. If you google that pet number plenty of sites mention the magnum

that's what I was thinking cause that shifter is a dead giveaway. But nowhere on the site does it say "magnum", it just says "
FORD PERFORMANCE TREMEC 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION"

Yep, that's a Magnum. I understand your concern that you don't want to solely rely on the photo in case there was an error in the listing, or even in the photo. I would verify with the seller that it has a 6-bolt shifter plate (matching the photo). Even Summit Racing, who has this listed but it's Not Available, only refers to it as a FORD PERFORMANCE TREMEC 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION, with no mention of it being a Magnum. LEVITTOWN FORD PARTS also lists it the same way, but their price is $2,453.05.

glad to hear you agree it is in fact a magnum. From my understanding, magnums are supposed to be around $3,100 so this one being $2,400 kinda threw up some red flags for me. Seems to be a good deal none the less. I think it's my time to finally pull the trigger on this bad boy

I did a google search on that part number and saw a similar price a couple of places, was kind of surprised

Listed on Google as "was $3,073" at Levittown. Interesting, tempted to shelf an extra. I question them though, I've had confirmation from them over the phone to go pick up the part and they didn't have it.

I’m not in a time crunch atm so I’m probably going to buy it and whenever they ship it, they ship it. I just want to get it at a good price like this. Perfect opportunity for you to shelf one as well.

My Cobra is the only one I’ve ever been in or driven, but I see all the complaints about notchy shifting etc and I couldn’t be happier with mine.

10k miles at 600rwhp and about 4K at 20psi and E85 2.9whipple and smooth as ever. Zero noise and feels like brand new still.

Is that higher price with shipping fee?

No actually comes up as "price drop" I'll try to upload the screen cap. It's ~2,700 after the shipping but that might be location specific. I live less that 40 minutes so I'd just get it from them. Granted unless you already have one there is supporting mods, correct length driveshaft (had a FRPP aluminum I had for a SRA shortened around the block for ~$100, I'm SRA) I'd recommend the Stifflers x-member, maybe a yoke. Probably other things I forgot about. I had a TKO500 before so had a lot of the other stuff.

I've been eyeballing magnums but really wanted a 2.66 1st/ .050 6th combo. Looks like the only different between this M7003M6295 and the M7003M6297 is the close vs wide ratio so be aware of that. The M7003M6295 in question is the wide ratio variant which may or may not be what you want.

Good catch price might be dropping because IMHO thats the less desirable combo. Just found another thread I posted the stock gear ratios being 2.66 , 1.78, 1.3, 1.00, 0.79, 0.63 thats the one I like. I run 3.73 out back but either way the longer first is 90% of why I switch from a TKO 5 speed. Depends on OP's goal and power level, I think that one has less of a market for street use. But at ~700 lb-ft first is half throttle short shift to get to 2nd anyway on the street.

Edit:
FWIW, that is a internet special the dealership doesn't even know apparently, when you call them they say "that is internet pricing and retail is different we can't even process that" at dealer is $2,995. I asked if that was a mistake and said it's a whole different department. Take it for what you will just figured I'd pass along what I know to save who ever time. They couldn't tell me what would happen if I actually ordered it online.
