Uhh... did I miss something? I saw absolutely nothing happen. The windmill barely moved.
The windmills in the back were damaged. You can see a blade flying through the air around the 22 second mark. And then later it comes around the other side so it was rotating like a cow around the twister! ;)

Too bad the camera was not closer to that spot lol!

I wasn't even looking at that because whatever idiot made this video put an arrow pointing at the windmill in the center so my focus was on that instead and I have no idea why they wanted the viewer to watch that windmill?

Maybe I need to get my eyes checked. I see what happened now. First time looked like they were pointing at the mill in the foreground.

This one is longer from different angles. Those windmills are huge! There's some close up shots. If you have the attention span of gnat then skip it!

Check out the video above. Numerous windmills were damaged. I wonder if a F5 would topple the towers? Perhaps. It's not like they have not have structural failures before under calmer conditions.

I wasn't going to watch 21 minutes of wind, but I did catch a lot of it. Sorry, but all I saw moving (besides the tornado) was blades of grass and windshield wipers. o_O

Huh, so tornadoes destroy things? Last video was just funny. "People were scared" wind turbines are unsafe. Wonder what lobby paid for that. "Green energy" scams not withstanding talk to me when you **** up a large section of the Gulf coast. I don't why people hate on wind besides "they cause cancer".

They kill thousands of birds.

So do windows. Both problems, recycling and birth deaths are being actively addressed. Apparently painting the blades differently can reduce bird death by close to 3/4. It's imperfect, but considering most of the issues are financers bailing and unforseen (should have been considered) engineering flaws, not sure the hate. Seems mostly political. Not against oil but can't but think it's old money trying to keep their grip, military industrial.

How many years documented on here that "ethanol was the devil" would blow your engine up dissolve everything. Years later pushing 800+ out of tiny blowers. Where did all the ethanol ruins your engine articles come from? Seems like a huge jump in performance happened after the bullshit was proved as such.

That video is from a county SW of me. About a decade old.
As for a EF5 being able to take down the mast a strong EF3 (136-166mph) should be able to do it, that tornado filmed did bend several in half. But it was only EF1 at the time it hit the windfarm.
May 19th 2012 Kingman & Harper county tornadoes

I hate the stupid windfarms. Having 50% of our power come from them makes the electricity in Kansas much more expensive than surrounding states that still use coal/nat gas. And our costs are only going up.
There is one big problem most people don't realize. These windfarms interfere and create false echos on doppler radar right at the elevations you look at the bottom of the storm for areas of low rotation and possibly ready for producing a tornado. There can be upper level rotation but without seeing the base's velocity you have to assume it is tornado. At least with the new dual pole radar debris lofted high into the storm by a tornado doing damage will show a "debris ball" letting you know it's on the ground without spotters.

Here is a picture of the radar from ICT (2 miles from me) you can see what look like strong cells in NW Harper County, into Kingman and Barber counties... it's just stupid windmills. The precipitation in Oklahoma is real.
Fun fact, north of the town of Harper are the same farms you see the tornado playing around in during that video!

For one, I don't recall ever hearing about Ethanol ever being griped about. Maybe that was before my time on here? Even when I remember hearing about it coming up I still don't recall any gripes.

Second, if they can fix the issues then I'm fine with wind. My only other gripe with energy is that they are pushing for all these alternatives yet avoiding nuclear when it could outperform all other alternatives combined. Although with its own risks, and with my limited understanding, I believe those risks can be mitigated with today's tech and standards. Why spend all the money and take up so much space with wind and solar for such a limited output when a nuclear power plant(s) could easily power any city?
