Whats funny about credix is this, if you are late they ding you which gives them the excuse to charge you more for crap you probably dont need. But the fortune 500 company i work for will constantly pay 120 days out or even later with no repercussions, like many other big companies the rules of credit do not apply. Loans and credit is just another way to make you a debt slave. But hey you have been a good servant so you now dont have to pay as much interest for something you cant afford anyways. If we were paid a correct wage you wouldnt need credit. Like your great grandfather that had 2 vehicles, a tractor, house/land and no debt. They keep you in debt with shiny new stuff, keeping up with the Jones's. The foolishness of man.

Mine is always in the 770-790 range. I always get 'dinged' for length of credit. Being 30 years old and having had 3 different mortgages, no car loans and just credit cards; they supposedly don't like that. haha

CEO of the company I used to get my mortgage said it's better to always leave a small amount on your CCs vs paying then down to 0. Who knows, just live within your means

"Nothing makes me question ALL of my life decisions like SVTP."

I have $2000 I roll every month on a $45k limit card. My banker told me the same thing, said it was better for my score to have a balance.

Im not sure what point that matters but I pay mine off completely every month and sit in the 81X range if I don't run the balances up too high in a random month

After experimenting with accounts and manipulating money for many years, I can confirm, your Company CEO was right on the money with that recommendation.

That's a great score OP! The highest I've been was around 843. My Fico is 817 now down 2 the last month and my other two are at 829 each. What's your social credit score? ;)

I learned when I sold my house and the mortgage got paid off… credit score did not like that shit .. AT ALL
Yes when you close credit card accounts your credit will take a hit. Now people like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and the weirdo Gates don't care about those. I wonder if they even have credit cards?!

I use credit cards to my advantage. I pay them off always so there are no finance charges and reap the points and rewards. I figured I have day to day expenses either way so might as well get points for it. My wife keeps buying groceries with her debit card. I told her start using a grocery credit card that earns points! It's like talking to a wall!

Same here.

Sold my condo, which had a relatively small amount of mortgage left on it, then immediately applied for another mortgage that was 6x more. I think I dropped like 50 pts, it took like 10 months for it to climb back over 800.

I get updates from my credit cards about my score. I'm at 815 now. My problem with the credit reporting bureaus is that they don't seem to have much oversight. They do whatever they want. I told them for years that they had my mom's birthday and mine mixed up but they wouldn't change it. It was funny when I bought my Explorer because the salesman went to check my credit score he came back laughing and said I looked great for someone that old. He already knew how old I was since he had my driver's license.

TransUnion goes up to 900 now? Might be some strange Canadian thing. I haven't checked my score in years. I'm surprised it's that high because I pay my CC in full each month and don't have any loans.

Credit scores seem like who's line is it anyway. I pay my stuff on time, score goes up and down as it wills. My lender for the business cares about cash flow, and that's about it.

From the time my score went over 750 or so I never had a problem qualifying for anything at the lowest offered rate. Which is why I have no desire to play the game and get closer to 850.

I don’t have a mortgage that’s in their books, don’t have a car payment or other installment loan. Adding another card or two would bring my utilization down that’s about the only thing I kightndo
I’m with you. Cars are paid off didn’t carry a mortgage till recently when I got a small on one to get the house back in shape. Been a hard year with having to have the house leveled, and clean up the yard after that shitty deep freeze we had. so rather than do it piece meal we took a mortgage to get it all done. Fun thing was it took a week to do the mortgage start to finish lol. That is what good credit will do. I haven’t checked it this month yet.
