2018 2.7 EB. So, everyone says you need a catch can. I buy a UPR unit, piece of cake to install. 500 miles later and I check it, not even a single drop of oil.

Nice. I’ve used UPR cc brand in on my last several mustangs GTs / Shelby’s myself. I know I know different engine and difference truck vs car, same concept. Can’t hurt right? Lol

interesting

that off one valve cover or both?

I also dont think its nearly as important on the dual fuel system trucks as it might be for DI only with blow by

Well that seems like a waste. Do you know if others that have one and did they collected anything? I know my mustang would collect a lot. Maybe it’s your driving style.

Depending on the year, some say they get a bunch and to check it every few hundred miles. Quite possible, pretty much all local driving.

Check it after 10,000. Dump it every oil change. It adds up over the course of 200,000 miles with no real way to clean the valves off.

I thought ford went to dual injector systems (di and traditional) a few years back because of that

Mine is.

Passenger. That's what UPR has the kit designed for.
Good, that is usually the side that sees the blow-by. Other items that will effect this is driving habits, amount of pressure and condition of rings. If you’re not seeing anything…you should be happy. Consider it piece of mind.

Agreed. Cheap easy mod and it’s really about longevity I think. I’d hate to think a cheap mod like that could of saved me from ripping the heads off 150,000 miles ago.

13 F150 3.5 ecoboost. Put a JLT on and it would fill up at about 1K miles. I tried different oils at changes, but no improvement.
I settled in on 5w30 Mobil 1 and at 40K miles it finally settled down to less than a full can at 5K oil changes.
I have the same catch can on 13 GT500 and 99 Cobra with KB.
They seldom need to emptied.
If you do not check the can and empty as needed, you are pumping that sludge through your intercooler and that is some messy stuff.

2019 2.7 with a few "fun" mods (in sig)
Admittedly, I drive like a grandpa.
41,500 miles

JLT can on the passenger side.

Because it was under warranty (as far as anyone else knew) and it's a company vehicle, I had to have it serviced at a Ford dealer. Ergo, it got the Motorcraft synthetic blend. Can hardly ever had anything in it.

When warranty was up I changed the oil myself in a pinch. Ran full synthetic for that warm and fuzzy feeling. Can was 1/3 full after 3k miles. I purposely wanted to switch to a conventional after that change just to compare, but the place I took it ended up running a full synthetic even though I specifically requested a conventional. Thus far, I'm seeing about 1/4 full after 1200 miles. My next step is to clean or replace the passenger PCV valve and see if anything changes. If not, I'd like to resume my plan for conventional oil at the next change.

I had also started getting a MIL every 5 or so cold starts. Code was for IAT2/MAP sensor (the one towards the rear of the intake manifold.) Pulled the sensor and it was coated in sludge. Tried cleaning it which seemed to buy me a few more cold starts. Also discovered a TSB for it in the process so I ordered and installed the updated sensor while I was at it. The other two IAT sensors (intake tube and right before the TB) still looked brand new. Solved the MIL issue...for now.
