We saw it Saturday and it was thoroughly entertaining. Best we have seen in a long while. My only gripe is some of the unrealistic elements but I guess that's par for the course in Hollywood movies- These aren't documentaries after all..

I enjoyed it. Saw it yesterday at RPX. Just as good as the original in my opinion.

This was my first time back to the movie theater since before the coof nonsense. And it wasn’t that great of an experience. I’ll prob go back again but I’ll make sure to get a back too row seat as I always did, so that there isn’t some person behind me coughing, hacking a lung, and sniffling almost the whole time.

Trench run, check
Hit a 2m wide target at end of trench run, check
Being able to pull out in time, check
Hero comes out of nowhere just as they begin to fire at Luke, I mean Maverick, check.

Sent from my SM-G986U using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Dropping the bomb with no "targeting computer", check. :)

I don't remember having as much fun watching a movie in a long, long time.

just saw it in 4D. pretty wild but gimmicky imo. i kept sliding in my seat lol.

movie was awesome. loved it.

have some questions though....

in the final mission, why were Maverick, Rooster and Hangman flying without a weapons system officer?

why did they show Top Gun in san diego when it moved to NV a looong time ago? lol

Was Hondo Mavericks executive assitant that he takes him wherever he goes?

i had some more but already forgot. maybe they'll come back to me.

Question, towards the end when Mav is in his "Whites" - he had a single star with 4 bars on his shoulders. But they still referred to him as "Captain". Any thoughts?

That sounds correct for a Captain in the Navy.

We saw it Monday night. Best movie to come out in long time by a country mile. Will likely buy this one, wife and I both loved it.

My Mom use to work with alot of higher ranking officers, whenever someone introduced themselves over the phone as "Captain" she always followed with "Captain Navy or captain Army". An O6 has alot more clout than an O3.

Great movie. So many 'call backs' to the first movie, which was great.

Had the mission been realistic, and this scenario real life, the DOD undoubtedly uses F22s . . . unless they have a weakness I don't know about.

But, of course, the movie makers (and Cruise) wanted to use real flight video . . . so needed dual pilot aircraft so the actors could be filmed in the planes . . . and needed it to be Navy . . . which means the aging F18s were the only option. And, they were "overmatched" by the enemy fighters. Created drama, I guess.

Aside from the mission itself being able to be done ten other ways, none of which would've required F18s doing a death star trench run, the movie was ****ing superb in every way. I'm glad to see movies today moving away from overuse of cgi and bringing in more practical effects, if they cgid their way through this one the movie would've been shit.

Sorry but the movie didnt do a damn thing for me. I felt like I was watching a re-boot of Iron Eagle II.

The Hollyweirdos cant come up with any new content, so all they do is plagiarize garbage from other movies made 20-30 years ago. They put lipstick on a pig and tried to sell it as Miss Piggy.

Glad I didn’t pay for the movie ticket. A buddy bribed me to go by paying.

The original will always be King.

But Chappy, he's only got......

3 DAYS....3 Damn days....Trust me boy!

I mean, you have to do the flight in 1:30, fly the trench, 1:30 or your dead. Migs get you, SAMS get you.....1:30 or under or your dead.

Loved every one of these movies. Don't forget Firefox!

That is ripe for a remake, but they’re too afraid of offending the Ruskies or China to do it. That was a cool movie for back in the day and probably the most futuristic that I remember Eastwood starring in.

Loved it. Just cheesy enough but not too cheesy. Great action. Plenty of suspense. Gets a tad ridiculous when Mav and Rooster go down but not enough to ruin it. Will see again. 5/5.
