Just got back from a round trip to Poughkeepsie NY for a wedding. Truck got 23.5mpg over the 620+ miles of the weekend. Not a single issue other than the dead bug population on my windshield is beyond ridiculous.

Waiting on my 2022 2.7 I ordered. Thanks for all this info. Glad to see it's getting some pretty good mpg too. It was my main reason going with the 2.7

Sent from my SM-G988U using the svtperformance.com mobile app

I have been running 91/93 octane and so far between 22mpg up to 23.6mpg mostly highway(to work and back w/ traffic) along with some long trips.

While towing it has also been excellent. Straight highway going down to VIR in tow/haul mode and it will hover around 18mpg. Getting into the mountains and it will drop to 15mpg on the way to Summit Point in tow/haul mode.

Awesome truck. Quite an upgrade over a Colorado.
The reliability alone is worth it. Add in the power/torque increase, the towing capacity, infotainment, NVH mitigation(very apparent compared to the Colorado) along with just the basic touch surfaces is much better.

Starting to look into tuning this more and really dont understand why its taken this long for a tuning solution that works with the OTA updates along with not being a piggyback system.

Livernois has the plug in device but ive heard disables the OTA updates?

Anyone used a JB4 on anything and have good/bad experiences?

Or should i just wait until the warranty is up and see whats available at that point.

Ill be up and over 36k within the next 6-10 months so i do have time.

I keep hearing that HP Tuners is close to a solution.

That would be excellent.

Do you happen to know if the Livernois tune is OTA compliant or if they disable it?

I saw a dyno of a 21+ F150 2.7 and it seems right around 300whp to start which is quite good for a crank HP number of 325. Im guessing they are a bit underrated.

Truck is going in for its 25,000 mile service next week. Beyond happy with this truck. Ford really knocked it out of the park with the 2021 MY.

Just got the news from Whipple that they have released the 2021 F150 2.7L Ecoboost Stage 1 tune. $950 is a bit steep though.

I think Livernois with the tuning device is in that same ballpark, maybe a little cheaper but not a ton

maybe a little cheaper but
IIRC it was around $200 cheaper than the Whipple one. The install instructions seem like its just plug into the OBD port and flash but i have heard differently that you need to go at the PCM instead.

Was hoping Livernois would chime in on this forum but havent seen anything yet.

I really want to keep the OTA QOL updates that Ford pushes through. Keep hearing stories and want to confirm what is disabled/stopped by flashing the truck.

and here I am....

We have done alot of trucks and have been tuning the 21+ for over a year now.
The Ota that Ford rolls out does not change our tune. They do not over the air update the ECM or TCM.

Excellent news. I am at 28k miles as of this morning. Will be purchasing the tune in the next month or so. Are they in stock or still on backorder?
