Is it legal to tint your windshield up there?
Nope. Only if you get caught. I had it tinted for 10 yrs before having the windshield replaced last year. I peel the inspection sticker off myself before going to the shop (so they don't take a razor to the tint) and I have never been questioned for it.

35% is the legal limit on all the side windows here, which is useless IMO. So any car that tints the windows is usually illegal here anyhow. Knowing what to look for with a tinted windshield, I see a ton of cars with it done.

Yeah, how did you get it off? I would assume after 17 years it resisted removal a bit. Did you heat it?

The new tint looks awesome, by the way.

Thanks Bob. Makes a huge difference for sure.

I used a steamer and heat gun. 75% of the glue came with it. It came off in complete sheets. Didn’t tear at all, I just took my time. I then used 99% isopropyl alcohol to get the rest of the glue off. I went over the side windows with a flat razor to make sure they were clean. I just kept using clean rags and the alcohol on the rear window so I didn’t mess up the rear defroster. Worked great.

It's been a bit since I've gotten to do much with the Cobra but got a lot done this week. Washed, decon and ready for polishing. The vert top was cleaned and coated with Cqaurtz fabric guard. Today I finished the front end, it was repainted at some point and was actually pretty easy to work with. I just had to finish down the body shop compounding. So the hood, bumper, and fenders are prepped for coating. I restored the cowl, rad support plastic cover, and the grille and pulled the hood vents to restore those. Started compounding the rear end and hopefully, I will get all that and the polishing done tomorrow. Its hard to get motivated to clean your own stuff when you do it for a living.

I'm glad it came off so cleanly. Your techniques were key, though. You did an awesome job!

Judging by your photos, you are one heck of a professional detailer!! Well done! Post up some body photos when you're done.

Are you detailing the interior, too?

Thank you. Always learning, sometimes they come out 'perfect' sometimes you feel like you are beating your head against a wall. The Interior was actually in excellent shape, cleaned and vacuumed it when it came off the trailer from shipping. I do want to condition the bolsters with some leatherique at some point.

Much better.

The before and after is dramatic. Nice.

oh boy, I can play in this thread too finally.

Chopped off rear quarters and replaced with carbon fiber panels (painted). Also replaced both doors and front fenders. For some reason a daily driver for 250k in Canadian winters (salt!) didn't sit well with the panels (rust!)

Didn't you start a thread recently discussing those CF body panels. I know some questioned the quality of the fit but yours seem pretty much spot on.

That guy will show up on SVTP with a PLEASE HELP thread. LOL.
