Stick a million to 8 million people in a city.

These people have the most practical application of an electric vehicle.

End game is no way to charge the multitude of vehicles.

Take semi-rural to actual rural Americans. No practical use, but probably better charging probability.

Go green fools.

Edit: if I could by a long range Lightning for ~60k, I’d do it. It would be a great supplemental vehicle for regular trips and powering shit in weird situations.
ANYONE WHO LIVES IN A CONDO..... or rents an apartment... espescially on the second floor couldnt practically own an EV.... condo associations HATE extension coords hanging out windows to the ground floor. lol ask me how i know. But these fukin greenies arent real men anyway. they are almost women most of them. silver spoon aston martin/Tesla drivers. they even sound/act feminine. For what it’s worth, I don’t disagree with anything you said.

However, you went a little off base in that rant.

Most of the EV electricity in my area is provided by coal which has no pollutions.

My apartment/townhome complex has EV chargers in the parking lot by the office.

So, when ICE Is gone and phased out, what replaces the Gas Tax, which is supposedly used for road maintenance?
I've wondered that too. I do know that the Spanish American War tax that was enacted in 1898 was not repealed until 2006. Congress will figure out some sort of way to tax us in order to maintain that flow of money from gas taxes.

This is where the “connected” electric vehicle comes into play. The vehicle will Upload data on a timeframe set by local, state, and federal governments regarding mileage, charge times, charge rates, etc and you receive a tax bill for your consumption at a per mile rate.

Usage or mileage tax. It's already been implemented in several states due to cars becoming more fuel efficient and the loss of gas tax revenue. Luckily we have escaped that here in TX so far. Eventually it'll happen though, and with my commute I'll be screwed.

Interesting. I wonder how soon it will be before someone figures out how to mess around with that connected feature to make it appear they used the car less than they actually did.

I commute 100 miles a day. Guess I will get hit hard as well.

Very good question. We'll probably see an overall increase in electricity rates, meaning everyone will pay the tax man, not just car (EV) car owners.

I can't blame Ford, they just raised the price of the Lightning by roughly 7k which coincidence or not is around the same as the new tax incentive. Basically, the government is giving them 7k on top of whatever built in profit they have for every single truck they sell.

Yep, and if you think its going to be a minute increase, i have bad news for you. KW hours are about to skyrocket. I would also bet money kw rationing is a thing in the foreseeable future as well.

They’ve already been raising the price of KWH here in El Paso.

Bunch of guys at work noticed before me so I finally checked.

My bill last month was higher than than the previous month and I was out of town for three weeks! Left the AC at 80.
