Currently my car has the following suspension items which is how I bought it:

Suspension
- Team Z K-Member
- Team Z control arms
- Team Z subframe connectors
- Team Z coilovers w/ 12in 175lb springs
- Strange 10 ways (front)
- QA1 double adjustable (rear, car is still IRS)
- H&R race springs (rear)
- MM Diff bushings
- MM subframe bushings

the car is just way too soft for me, NOISY and bottoms out often. I have new Bilstein Shocks on the shelf but whats the most cost effective approach? Those front shocks are not grooved for MMS coil Over Kit.

Can I keep the subframe and just put better bilstein coil overs? What springs in the front? Keep the back?

Lend me your thoughts. Car will very seldomly see heavy track days. Car specifics in siganture.

Thanks!

First off the front struts do not get a groove for MMs front coilovers. They use a collar clamp that the base that the threaded sleeve rides on.

Just for clarification the rears however do need to be grooved for a snap ring. MM does the modification for about $40 IIRC.

So you can run an MM coilover setup up front and keeping your current Team Z stuff is the most cost effective route in my eyes since you already have new Bilsteins sitting on the shelf.

Oh really?? Ok! Dang, I thought it was the fronts that needed it. I plan on leaving my H&R Springs in the back.. on the front... what height and spring rate? 10" 325#?

Also I will say that the Team Z does offset the steering rack. The Control Arms are also not gusseted and are for drag racing. I can change them later on but I believe they will work with what I got for the time being.

Yes the snap ring groove us only for the rear.

I'd call MM and talk to them when you place your order. They'll help you pick a spring that matches your rear wheel rate.

You'll probably be fine with those A arms and K member for a while. I am not a fan of drag race oriented setups on the street but plenty of people run them.

I'd get the new coilover setup up front and make a decision on the a arms and k member later.

These fox chassis’s ride like ****. I feel like I’m riding in a dump truck. That’s been true for the 3 ive owned. I’m starting to realize why people go from the Terminator to the GT500s or coyotes. It’s the ride….these ride like dog ****.

If the car is bottoming out you might want to consider some heavier springs, spring rate always seems to be a bit of a crap shoot, especially with cool overs, you can increase your dampen rate too but I am sure you have already tried that

And it seems as we get older, the ride factor makes a big difference

My viper had 800#/1000# springs and rode better LOL

You have to remember the Viper has a far superior suspension design.

The stuff we are riding around on was designed in the 70s.

Also keep in mind that unless you're willing to spend serious money on a Griggs SLA all you can do is maximize that 70s technology.
