I listened to a program on the radio a few months back on this. From what I understood, there are dealers mixing large batches of weed with fentanyl. They then break it up into portions for distribution. So they really don't know how much fentanyl is in each batch causing people to od. The officer said it only takes 2-3 grains of it the size of a grain of salt to kill a person.

Bingo.

Can't imagine a dealer going "geee, let me give away free product to some teenagers and catch a murder charge"

Sure, dealer could have been cutting stuff on a table and got cross contamination...but Occam's razor gonna razor.

More likely is the group of teens had and used other drugs and substances. Marijuana is typically shared amongst teens so it would be odd that laced/contaminated weed would only impact one person.

The "laced marijuana" story is likely from the other teens to cover their own asses and paint themselves as victims. "Officer, I don't know what happened, we only had one little puff of weed! Some monster must have poisoned us!" Magically no one will remember who or how they got the weed.
This. We had some high school kids die from OD and it was reported “fentynal laced Marijauna”. I found out from inside source that it was ecstasy pills with fentynal. Other crazy details is they fell asleep naked in a 69 with after death bowl movements. Gotta feel sorry for the family or friends finding them in this situation.

You're saying dealers dont put fentanyl in weed?

sure they may do it, but

1) its not nearly as common as the media portrays it. Reminds me of the 'check your kids halloween candy for drugs!' messages, hardly ever happens.

2) as stated its an opioid, and would directly counter the effects of smoke, either cancelling out, or making it a god awful experience, would be better suited to lace X, meth, heroin, with it, as it would mesh better. Real smokers know the minute their shit is laced with something. In my experience, guys that only smoke just wanna smoke, and got no interest in growing their repertoire, if you catch my drift.

But again, we're expecting drug dealers to be intelligent beings. Typically they are good businessmen, though.

It is being laced, I just don’t believe at the rate the media portrays.

If you are asking why, you have obviously forgot what it was like to be that age.

If you are asking who would buy it knowing it could kill people, you obviously forgot what it was like to be that age.

Growing up they banned three wheelers because of how dangerous they were. We purposely rode to try and roll them things. I’d buy one in good shape if I had the room and didn’t have a daughter that would probably want to do dumb shit like me. My wife laughs about the one they had when she did sea turtle research. She said the bitch didn’t have any brakes.

My math may be off but, I think a quarter midget is a garden gnome.

I think immixed fentanyl in all sorts of other drugs happens a **** ton more often than bad Halloween candy by orders of magnitude.

I'm not buying the story. Either the parents or kids don't want to admit that other drugs were involved.

The drug scene is constantly changing, the dealers will supply the want.

No, dude, they dont.

So drug deals work completely different than any other sales transaction in present day, is what you're telling me - whereas you're quite literally not getting the product you purchase?

Who knew?

Here's a thought.
Don't do drugs.
Raise your kids with that ingrained in their head.
Problem solved.
Worked for me and has worked for my kids.
Shocking, I know.
Parents, at least around here, are a lost cause. They supply their kids with drugs and alcohol with this philosophy of "I'd rather them do it at home where I can watch them then somewhere else." It's asinine.

If I found out another parent gave my son drugs or alcohol at a sleepover/party I expect jail time at the very least.

It worked for me too, but unfortunately for some reason it didn't work for my brother who grew up in the same household around the same influences I did.

I don’t know why they would. Unless it’s some sort of fake weed altogether.

Fentanyl is addictive, weed is not. Sprinkle a little overdose dust on a few pounds at a time, and those ****ers will keep coming back for YOUR weed. Not the other guy's. A great tactic, especially today where so many buy at dispensaries.
I also can see the cross contamination thing happening too.

Sounds familiar. My sister has more open cases against her than I have had speeding tickets. She is in denial of her drug issue.

I have fought alcohol issues but have been doing well with it. I don’t want to act or portray myself as being a saint. But, I have done well enough to stay away from drugs.
