Guess I never understood why some people get so worked up about somebody else chooses to spend their time. And then comes into a thread to constantly complain about it.

Would I spend my time that way? - No. But who am I to judge others.

Stopped into a few dealers to start the search for my next vehicle.
Jeep dealer said they'll do 3% under invoice on Grand Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee.
They had a decent amount of stock but no Gr. Wagoneers. Gr. Cherokee was nice but not $77k msrp nice. Order time was 3 months.

Porsche Cayenne was 1 year order, zero off msrp and about $110k the way I'd want it. It was nice but not that nice.

BMW X5 was 4-6 months for a M50 but I wasn't impressed at all with it. The 4.0 is shit with rubber seats and very cheap inside. I didn't ask if they offered a discount as I wasn't interested at any price.

Mercedes GLE was by far next level especially inside. $85k msrp for a GLE450. They were willing to deal off msrp and said if they can snag an allocation it was probably 2 months, otherwise 4-5 months. I'm seriously considering the 450, maybe even a 580 or 53.

I still want to look at a Navigator, Levante, and SQ7. The Navigator is over $100k for a Black Label I'm not sure I want to spend that much and deal with the shitty Ford service departments.
The Levante seems plain inside but there is something about it I like and there is a ton of them on the lots.
Lots of SQ7's, it's kind of like a Cayenne Turbo on the cheap but I've had bad luck with Audi's.

For whatever it's worth on the Grand Wagoneer it seems they have had more issues than the regular Wagoneer in terms of bugs/electrical gremlins. Especially since they come with more tech/features.
We have a Wagoneer with 9k miles so far with minor Uconnect issues but it's not bad enough to drop it off at the dealership and possibly get no loaner. I know the 6.4L Hemi is still around for 2023 but the Hurricane V6TT probably will be ordered more for inventory(IMO).

So I've been softly in the market for a Raptor (or Limited/Platinum/KR if a great deal comes up) for about 5 months, had a few deals fall through and wasted time checking out piles of trash...but the positive from it is the listing prices have gone down as much as $8-10k in that time for the price range of trucks I'm looking at.

How much more do we think it'll go, will end of January/February be the prime time to buy?

Would love to get into a 40-50k mile 18-19 802a Raptor for high 40s lol

Good question, the thread's title is/has clearly been evolving rapidly the last 2 months and it is interesting to shoot the shit on. It is interesting to hear everyone commenting on what is happening in their neck of the woods. It is also interesting to hear Nick comment on what is happening in the Ford dealership world. There are multiple state dealer organizations at loggerheads with Ford, so definitely tension on how it all moves forward. It is pretty clear that the OEM's are coming at supplying their dealership from different angles with EV's being a huge player in that.

The story continues.

What site are you guys using to search for vehicles for sale? Still waiting on insurance to let me know if mine is totaled but in the mean time I'm looking at my replacement options both new and used.

If you are looking for in stock inventory the factory webpage is a good place. It will also list in transit or ordered depending on brand.

Idk man…. Random Retired Boomers delivering fullness of local dealer lots seems to be the way to gauge the market…

No, having a conversation about the new market with differing viewpoints is the way to gauge the market. Nick would be the first to tell you, marketing and inventory plans rarely survive contact with reality. Ford and all the other OEM's are literally winging it in the face of the mandates being handed down.

And it isn't just me noticing dealer lots in MN are filling up.

It's definitely interesting times.

If the railroad strike goes through, look for EVERYTHING to get a price bump.

Thanks Nick, insurance finally looked at car today, waiting to hear back if it's totaled. If so I'll start looking but if I go truck it will most likely be RAM. The new F-150s are nice but I can't find a decent Ford dealer service center around me to save my life.

Rail companies need to pay them boys!
