Well, I just passed my one-year retirement anniversary and my finances are actually doing pretty well.... despite the fact that I still haven't received my first social security retirement check. In four days, it will have been one year since I filed my applications. That first check will be backdated to when I filed, so it will be a big one. The SSA is extremely backed up, but hey.... Biden wants to hire another 87,000 IRS agents.

My IRA account is down $175,000 from this time last year, but I've withdrawn over $120,000 in profits over the last 12 months. Fortunately, I haven't had to sell any of our assets off at a loss, and barring anything unforeseen, I don't see a scenario where I'll be forced to.

The market has been on a roller coaster ride lately and I've told my broker to take profits where he can, preferably those producing ROIs of 12% or better.

I'm kicking myself for not getting in on KOLD a while ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys are waiting for a turn of the tide before they split this at 1 for two or four.

I’m at an average of 7.05 and just going to hold.

Every single time I’ve exited a position at a loss, it’s rebounded. Granted that is with a company and not an ETF, but I actually feel safer about this one. Well except for one startup I was playing years ago. Turned out to be a pump and dump but I broke even.

Might be spring or early summer before anything substantial happens though.

Looking at the daily chart, there are 2-3 instances where I would've taken profits, way earlier than 68 lol...so I try to not waste too much time dwelling on it

I have struggled getting a read on /NG, BOIL, KOLD...gave up on fighting that daily trend on KOLD. Tried flushing out of BOIL Wednesday and Thursday and it just kept dropping. Giving me signals it was headed up on the 4hr, on 2 different days, only to drop over a dollar by morning. I literally laughed, because what else can ya do lol.

Also, I've never witnessed an ETF split, so kinda interested in how that works.

But soon, that weekly gotta turn

Both decay to zero in perpetuity.
Hence the reverse splits.

Correct. But big firm and it’s just a profit machine if you play it right.

They do regular splits too when the price is too high and volume tanks. They need the volatility.

You should see the retards on yahoo that have no idea what they are buying.

Interesting thread. I’d like dabble a little, but I’m totally ignorant to this game.

Where can I find a good primer to learn, and is there a good piece of software to facilitate my penny games?

Do you guys have a favored iOS app that I can checkout on an iPad?

I don’t trade anymore… I only want to buy things I want to own forever.

Buy what you love, or what you know other people love!

Starbucks, Amazon, google, apple, nvdia, kroger, Bitcoin, ethereum, Tesla, Ford

But don’t buy stuff to trade… that’s a long term way to lose your capital
My 2 cents

Start watching CNBC every am or all day.

Penny stocks are a day traders game unless you hit a home run….rare

i can tell you where i started, and it's what i'd recommend for a complete noob such as myself. it is cheap and he teaches basics, he does not want to give you stock alerts and charge monthly fees...he wants YOU to learn and succeed and be your own boss one day.

i see some of these folks charging a few grand a month to be in their discord( and to be honest, it might be worth it, but options are a little risky for me) and this guy's complete coursework is just a couple hundred bucks. he is active on twitter and will interact with people daily. i've yet to find a red flag and he seems like a genuinely good dude that is tired of corporate america and woke shit.

he will show how he day trades, or value invests, depending on the availability of screen time for the individual. he will briefly teach you how to evaluate a company and some of those basics are what i needed to get started. he uses ThinkOrSwim from TD Ameritrade and even shows you how to set it up ...the indicators he uses are mostly MACD and 9 and 18 EMA... and there is a mobile version.

all that said, the stock market is a really fast way to lose money quick if you don't develop a system, stick to it, and basically act like a robot...easier said than done!

Dumped mine a while back, handwriting was on the wall. Now to watch for a reentry point.
