hey all, i was replacing the clutch today..
found out that i also am replacing the retainer tube and have to heli-coil the pivot bolt (i did a lil' number). any how i just need to know where i should go to get a new gasket to seal the front plate to the trans.. i pulled the front plate off after draining, just to see the gears and remove the input shaft.. also have to get the other piece of the retainer tube out ;-)

lmk & thanks in advance.

edit: do not bother mentioning ford parts, wondering if there is a quicker route or what you'd recommend..
otherwise to ford i go!

also can anyone put a word in for me- I really need an input shaft! anyone that has one lying around, or has a contact at a shop (i know its sunday) that could pull some strings and get one to me in a hurry?

if you need the seal that goes around the shaft just go to ford. nothing wring with their parts.

thats why i posted the silicone. seals and gaskets are different and a t56 doesnt use gaskets. just silicone between the case sections and shifter handle. seals are used on the IS and OS

I have my 10spline if you really want it. Or do you need a 26?

Do you want the center seal for the shaft?

This may help you just a bit in the future...

yea i need the input shaft seal.. i'm going to go to ford and get that part, probably just order a stock retainer tube, unless it's cheaper to go with the $100 mcleod..

now i just need to get my buddy to do a helicoil on the pivot bolt.. :nonono:
