JMHO as a goat owner. Mach1 vs. LS1 goat, driver's race (stock).

I disagree there, Mach1s are quicker than the LS1 goats from what I've seen. The only reason the LS2 goats are faster than machs is due to the 60rwhp+ advantage which is needed to overcome the pretty large weight disadvantage.

Ls1 goat = 3800lbs, 295-300whp
Mach1 = 3380lbs, 270-280whp

Mach1s are capable of sub 13.4 e.ts, I've never seen an LS1 GTO ever run that quick.

This is the dumbest argument EVER. MMFF even said that the 04 GTO traps higher than the Mach1 and that between those 2 it is a drivers race. The LS2 GTO is FASTER than the Mach1 from a dig and ESPECIALLY from a roll.

some mach owners are just in denial. the mach1 is a great car, no doubt--but its not as fast as an LS2 goat with equal drivers/conditions/etc. period.

no one in their right mind would argue that a mach 1 can hang with an '03 cobra, yet an LS2 goat will be right behind the cobra.

GTO over a Mach easily with drivers being equal. But, I'll give the edge to the Mach because the GTO looks like a Pontiac Solstice, IMO.

That's the quickest I've ever heard from an 04 Goat, (and that's only mid 13s, please post up 04 GTOs running low 13s, I think it's funny you quote those times seeing how that's typically what 05+ GTOs with 50rwhp more run). There are countless people running sub 13.4 e.ts with Mach1s on this forum. It's almost the norm. Even that article claims they were able to achieve 13.15 previously from their test mach1. Basically that's like comparing the quickest times out of an ls1 goat to average times from a mach 1.

From what I've seen LS1 fbodies are just barely quicker than Mach 1s at a drag strip, (they're capable of trapping 2-3mph higher however). Are you saying LS1 fbodies which weigh quite a bit less perform that close to an LS1 goat? Wow these 04 Goats must be able defy the laws of pyshics when being compared to a Mustang.

So basically what your saying is an LS1 GTO is a drivers race compared to an LS2 GTO and LS1 Fbody. And when you talk about LS1 curb weight don't assume the heaviest possible, many are in the high 3400lb low 3500lb range.

And you are right, GTO pulls hard once it get rolling, especially up top.

I can attest to that. When my LS1 GTO A4 was stock even after hitting "OD" around 130 she still powered to 159 mph with no problem. I can only imagine how the LS2 6spd feels.

You're comparing fbody verts? Because LS1 T-top fbodies weigh 3,450lbs..This is amazing, I've never seen an LS1 goat even run a 13.5s let alone low 13s. I guess it's time to post the few people who claim to have run high 12s with a stock mach 1. :bored:

my friends 99 TTop T/a 6spd weighed in at 3600 lbs. without him in it. It does have subframe connectors and a strut tower brace tho.
