So this past Thursday me and a few other Marines apart of the Wounded Warrior Battalion were flown to Arizona to watch three Spring Training Baseball games. We landed on Thursday and went directly to the stadium to watch the Giants vs Angels.

The next day, Friday, we went to the Giants vs White Sox. We were taken onto the field during batting practice and just chilled and talked with players. I met Nick Swisher (CWS) personally and had him sign a few things. Very cool guy. Also met the owner of the Giants.

Later that night we were taken out to dinner at a Steak House by...you wont believe this....Barry Zito (Cy Young Winner), Jake Peavy (Cy Young Winner), Randy Wynn, Dave Roberts, Rich Aurilia and a few others.

It was a blast! Just sitting there eating dinner and talking with MLB players was awesome! Once in a lifetime experience! It felt like we have known eachother for years - it was cool.

Not sure how many people here watch or keep up with Baseball, but if you do, you know who these players are and what an opportunity this was for us.

I will get pictures here in a few days!!!

This was also part of Barry Zitos and USAA group called STRIKEOUTS FOR TROOPS.

thats a great thing man! we cant thank our troops enough for what they do!
I am a HUGE Baseball fan so I couldn't have missed this trip! It's amazing to see somebody who makes MILLIONS care so much for us.

One of the cool things was, you would expect somebody making MILLIONS playing Baseball to be stuck up, etc. but they were cool as hell. Talking about playing Rock Band, and hunting etc...

Im a very big baseball fan too! I played baseball at a Juco (Redlands CC), we were #2 in the nation, and i had major league scouts looking at me. I had played baseball every weekend and practice almost every day of my life since i was about 4 so i became burnt out. I miss it but i dont regret it. That'd be a great experience though!!!

I was the same way. When I finished practice after school, I would go home and have my brother hit me ground balls over and over and over. I was ALWAYS playing/practicing!

Very cool! Glad to see stuff like that happening for our veterans!

I'm a big Giants fan, have been for years (they're gonna suck bad this year...oh well) so i'm looking forward to seeing the pictures bro!
