Found more damage!!

I was in a hurry this morning and thought to myself "Shit...got jacked...oh well, not worth 500 deductable" and hauled ass into work. During lunch, I decided to file a police report and look the car over well and that's when I noticed that they scratched the damned car all over, not too bad, but bad enough. ALSO, they tried to break into my Girlfriend's Jeep!!! The police noticed that her handle had been tampered with! Ghetto as people. I'm so OUT of this place!

I live in apartments. They're duplexes and face-each other. I live in the apartment nearest the street, not the parking/alley. I've had no problem up until today. The bad part is that I live 7 miles from the Mex/US border and we've had major problems with car theft as
long as I can remember. Now with these temporary plates that dealers "print" (on heavy card-stock). It's even easier to snatch a car and take it across the border, never to be seen again. I don't know too many people that haven't had a vehicle stolen or at least broken into.

A bit of history:
It was built and sold in the summer of 2002. It was one of the few torch-red to come out in 2003 that was not a 10th Anniversary. A few months after Ford released the Terminator, they decided to reserve Torch Red for 10th Anniversary editions only. This is car number 108 of all the terminators ever built.

When I bought this car in 2006, it had one owner. The owner rarely drove it. I bought the car in June of 2006 and it had only 16,000 miles on it! The work he did on it was top-notch and had paid A LOT of attention to detail. The only thing "cheap" on the car was the upper pulley (moto-blue?)

If something needs repair, I get it done right away. Anyone that knows me or has seen the car in person knows that for a daily driver, I keep this thing in really good shape. I drive it EVERY DAY. This isn't a garage queen. The whole point of the rant is that I try and continue to keep it up as much as I can, you know....in the spirit of the original owner and of course the legacy of the car. I guess it's just really hard to take when some greedy phuck comes around and tries to gank your shit because they want it.

Oh well, I got off lucky compared to some of the shit I've read/seen on here, but as anyone who's had anything like this happen to them knows, it still hurts - even if it was just a little minor thing. I see a locksmith, mechanic and a body person getting involved to repair all the damage. Didn't even put pics of scratches...

See if you can buy one of those POD containers and park it in there at night? I don't even know if you can do that, but that just makes a guy wanna kill somebody. Your car is on of my favorite of the torches, and I've loved your videos in the past. Talk to your land lord to see if there is any type of security measures that he can take to protect your property.

Thanks man, yeah...I'm already on the horn callin' around for apartments with garages. I'm tired of this bullshit. I was up til 3am too. I bet it happened while I was owning ass in team-fortress 2 :(

Funny thing: I had actually considered the "pod" thing. But the parking spots aren't big enough and there's enough shit out front. 3 cars in the past year alone have been hit. That's why I don't park it up there.

Sorry to hear that man..Your right it could have been much worse.

I have a friend that works as a RPLS in McAllen and he had his truck broken into a month ago. My buddy ended up installing alarms on both vehicles and house as a result.

Hide in the car with a magnum. Shoot to kill. Illegals don't have ids so no one would really care if you made one disappear.

You've worked hard to earn a one of a kind car like that.

Sorry to hear that happened to you man. I'd definately be moving out of that place. I couldn't live with having to worry about that every night.

Obviuosly rookies and luckily a real crappy attempt.

I feel that my alarm with a dual zone proximity sensor and a high mount led helps deter these kind of scum bags. I also wired up some bright flood lights with motion sensors positioned around the car. A couple of kill switches too.

It always comes down to "if they're good enough, they'll get it" though.

I wonder if a good paintless dent removal guy could work that out to avoid painting the entire panel and worrying about matching the Torch Red?!!!

Sorry bud!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It seems the bad luck always finds the ones who cares the most for their sh_t. Hope you find you a place with a garage.

Consider yourself LUCKY. That was some jerkoff kid on his first amateur attempt.
That car is easy to get into.

Yeah, I have one of these:
GAhdsh_103106J.jpg

It's called "The Persuader" from Mossberg. I have 00buck and slugs staggered
I have woken up to my girl-friends car alarm (she's got a motion sensor) on her jeep. I don't hesitate to hop out of bed and go outside with it.

I'm calling around for apartments/houses. I would love to get a house, if not an apt with a garage, and if not that, at least one with a gate. Damn ghetto ass fools tryin to steal my goods.

*sigh* Oh well. Good to hear kind words from my fellow pony/cobra brothers!
