Im in the process of slappin on a twin turbo kit and was looking round a twin disc clutches. Im thinkin SPEC but im not sure if thats my best choice. Im plannin on runnin round 900rwhp. Ive had SPEC clutches in other vehicles and had nothin but problems, ie chatter. So im lookin for the best clutch for my money. Thanks in advance.

I really, really want a Ram TD clutch. I have heard alot of good about it. Its suppose to be extremely friendly as a DD clutch, but at the same time hold alot of power. I tried researching the Spec TD the other day and couldn't find much info where people were using them, but I would assume that their a very good product, but IDK much about them.

One of the members here just posted his initial impressions on his Zoom D-2
twin disc clutch. He says it is a much easier install than the Ram. No cutting of the TOB tube needed. No replacing or adjusting the pivot ball, You just bolt it in and go. He did say that the pedal pressure was slightly higher than stock, but this is a clutch designed to hold 900HP. It's also a little cheaper than the RAM.

I am also waiting to hear from someone about the Fidanza dual plate clutch. It seem like every day there is another great clutch becoming available.

I am hoping that the Zoom works as well as it has so far once it gets beat on at the track.

I let a shop install my Ram Twin and I'm glad I did as it was a pain to setup according to them. I went from a CF LM series to the Ram Twin with upgraded disks. Other than being a LITTLE hard to get into 1st and Reverse (actually you just hold it there and it finally goes in) the RAM Twin is great. My CF LM held well upto 500rwhp and MT DR tires but at 580+rwhp it was outmatched. The RAM Twin takes some getting used to: mine is adusted near the top (as soon as you start pushing the pedal).. so I need to readjust it. But what required getting used to is that it takes up all the movement in what feels like half the distance you normally use to modulate the clutch. Your starts and normal slow shifts will be herky jerky until you realize this and feel for that engagement point and then slow/modulate your let-out the appropriate rate, then the shifts are butter, zero chatter ever. I was warned that I'd hear a rattle when the clutch was pushed it (the steel plate between the discs) but mine is OEM silent, love it.

I went with the RAM and while it was a PITA to install (the 2nd one will be MUCH easier, LOL), I really like it and would recommend it for your application...

Ram 300, absolutely loved it.
Ram 900, wouldn't disengage properly and spent 2 months trying to get it right.
Zoom D2, just got it installed last night. It chatters a little (Ram didn't chatter at all) but we'll see how it holds up.

The Zoom D2 is holding up great! It does very well at the track, no slipping, no overheating and has very good manners on the street in all types of driving. It's a slight bit chattery when the car is cold, but even that goes away.

If anyone is interested, I have a brand new RAM 900, 26 spline for sale.
When it didn't didn't disengage properly, I sent it back and supposedly they rebuilt it with updated parts. While I was waiting, I ordered the Zoom, so the RAM is just sitting here. It'll come with the adjustable pivot ball and the trimmed TOB sleeve.

Update: My RAM Twin 900 started slipping.. a little cooler weather (probably putting me over 600rwhp sae) and a better batch of Hoosier 315/35/17 DR's and now THIS clutch is out-matched. My throw-out bearing is whining and the trans is making loud noises in 4th.. I abuse the piss out it, can you tell?

I swear I'm almost ready for an auto but I don't want even more traction problems, the car just started hooking again w/ the Hoosiers.
