so i have a 98 cobra with a 4.30 rear gear and its great to drive but one day at the end of the summer i was having some fun and clunk clunk clunk in my rear end...yeah i was pissed :fm: nursed it home (only like 2 miles away) and let it set cause i was pissed. came back to it acouple of days later and there was a bolt wedged in between the ring gear and diff case another one in the bottom of the housing and all the rest were loose. yeah glad it wasnt something i did but it does make me mad that someone that is setting up a performance car cant even torque the ring gear bolts. oh yeah i didnt have the work done was like that when i bought the car. in the end the ring and pinion gears are messed up so im going to get a new set this winter but i was also thinking about getting a new differential and some 31 spline axles as well since the rear end needs to be reset up (which i will be doing myself to ensure its right) but i wanted to get some opinions on which differential to run thanks guys
