South West Coast of Florida is a little more laid back, less crowded and generally less expensive.
I-4 corridor if you want to go to the parks.
South East Coast if you want to party.

My wife and I spent a few days in a B&B in St. Pete. It was awesome and within walking distances or a trolley ride to several museums and malls.

Are you looking to hole up (no pun intended) or go site seeing?

Lived in SW Forida for 5 years. Trust me on this one.

If you want secluded and romantic go Boca Grande.

As a native Floridian (Belleair,Fl) and UF grad there are a lot of great places so you need to give us more info on what you are looking for other than being romantic. What time of year are you planning on going?

I forgot about Key West, friggin riot!Boca Grande/Gasparilla is very close to me.Nice also. Not a whole bunch to do though.

yea gasparilla is a beautiful place but it is a little boring there, not much to do besides chill on the beach or go hang out in boca grande. Or go out on the boat all day if you have a boat. Not to mention I think you have to pay $5 everytime you drive over the bridges to get to and from gasparilla island. My uncle owns one of the condos on gasparilla we went there every year for probably a decade.

Well it will be our 10 year anniversary this coming year. I have always liked Florida but have only been to Orlando, Cocoa beach, and mostly Lake Okeechobee where my grandparents used to live. So we were wanting to go somewhere nice. We dont party or drink so we dont want to go anywhere around that. Mainly somewhere with a nice beach and probably would like to do some sight seeing and she has always wanted to go snorkeling so probably do that too. Somewhat secluded would be nice. We would probably be going around August/September.
