Could anyone point me in the direction of one of these diagrams? Not the supercharger belt route, but the inner belt.

Just wondering, where can i find a replacement inner belt? .. mine is about go

thanks!
RockAuto.com

What are the symptoms/mileage that warrant an inner belt change?
Most serpentine belts can last up to 30K or more depending on conditions. I would recommend on inspecting it for cracks or frays whenever you change your oil.

A little rule of thumb when trying to figure out belt routings: Just look at the pulley surface, if it is flat then the flat side of the belt should be touching it, if it is grooved then the grooved side of the belt should be touching it. :read:

Edit: Just realized how old this thread was!

all depends...hardest part i had was the stock lower pully....

it has a 14mm allen bolt.......get 1/2 inch drive 14mm socket.long half inch braker bar,,and 4-6 foot piece of pipe,to use to pull on,,,its tight,,once cracked ,it spins off by hand from thier

after thats loose is cake...

the s/c shield has to come off for just changing sc belt

the inner belt is the one that the crankshaft pully needs to come off

not sure about the stock pulley, but I replaced the inner belt without removing the lower pulley, which was a Metco lower. we loosened a couple other things, but able to change it without removing a bunch of stuff.

you may need to cuss at it a few times, use a flathead or prybar to help rotate the belt sideways to go between a couple things.

Yeah, with the stock pulley the cage keeps you from putting it on or off so you have to remove it.

Then you go through the sequence of fishing the belt where it needs to be like you mentioned.
