I've been driving my 03 recently since I got it up and running and still have to say that the Ram Twin with 900 series discs that I run is awesome. Smooth as can be, shifts nice and I'm gonna bet it holds what I throw at it. Not sure why so many other people have issues with this clutch but in my book it's a winner.

It must be hit or miss or maybe you got a revised one or something. I can't even get my car in and out of gear right now. I don't know how old the clutch i got is, i don't know if it is a first run of the clutches that was made and they made a few minor changes to it since you have gotten your hands on it. Mine also has the 300 series discs. But i got mine from a local board member and its not like i can just send it back. I just can't afford to have someone take off my Longtube headers and adjust the clutch 3+ times to get it to work properly. Needless to say I have a SPEC 3+ on the way and i'm gonna use the RAM flywheel and try to sell the RAM if i can find anyone to buy it. $300 for the clutch with no flywheel. Has 50 miles on it.

Mcleod Rxt

I installed a Mcleod RXT twin disc about two weeks ago, This clutch is amazing!!! I followed daydark's how-to and it came out perfect, thanks daydark mods should put this in the how-to thread. Before this clutch I had a fidanza twin disc what a POS!! lasted 4000 miles, maybe does not like the 1/4 mi. It was alway a chattery POS from the start. The RXT is a million times better IMO.

Troy, is the RXT a good street clutch (meaning no chatter), or is it mostly suited for strip duty? How does the pedal pressure compare with the stock clutch?

So far the RXT is very street friendly zero chatter, on the pedal pressure it's been so long since I've had a stock clutch I don't remember, I can say that It has a very soft pedal, smooth engagement, and it does not mind being slipped, I have 200 miles on the clutch, 300 miles to go to see if the RXT likes the 1/4 mile.

That's great to hear, thanks! Guess this one will be at the top of the list then. Where is the cheapest/best place to purchase the setup?

I am going to put in a twin disk soon and a scattershield while i'm in there. I'm looking at the QuickTime (RM-8080) scattershield, but want to make sure it will work with the twin disk. It looks a little more narrow than the McLeod scattershield. I have searched many forums and can't find the answer. Anyone have any ideas?

I would ask the company that you are buying the clutch from to help with that, make that earn there money.

Good idea!

I thought about that earlier, only today is Saturday and they are closed.

Just thought someone had already been down this road.

Thanks.

What was the install like? Did it require a lot of adjusting and an adjustable pivot ball etc.? I really wish there was more feedback out there on the ACT, or for the SPEC for that matter.

I'm ordering my clutch in the next couple of days and as of right now I'm going with the SPEC P-trim (rated at 1395lb/ft). If I knew more about the ACT I would consider it. They have been making awesome quality clutches for a long time!

ACT still don't even list a twin disc as available for our cars out their site, which really pisses me off...

The install was kind of a PITA, it was somewhat my fault because I did not have both disc lined up exactly, but other than that it was easy as pie! I did not need a adjustable pivot ball at all.
Ya it's just now starting to come out in the 5.0 mags but you can call them up and get hooked right up!
Again I love this clutch and so does a few of my buddies that have driven my car.

A local dude had a mccloud twin disc in his 03 .. He said it was like a switch (off or on) .. You can't really go by what he says so who knows...

He's not a member on here but his name on streetfire.net is SVTBoost..

I have the Mcloed RXT twin disc, it's the best clutch I have every had, smooth engagement, soft pedal, no chatter, can be slipped, his might not be installed correctly. Must use pivot ball for proper adjustment.
