i was at mir this past sunday for the ford event. i still believe with more seat time (only the second time running this car) the car will go faster.
here's how i did:
pass 1- 1.80 60ft. 7.47 1/8th mile at 96.4 11.52 1/4 mile at 119.50
pass 2- 1.86 60ft. 7.52 1/8th mile at 96.6 11.57 1/4 mile at 122.63

the mods i have are 2.8 upper pulley, long tubes with catted h pipe, magnaflow cat back, c&l intake with lfp single blade t/b and accufab plenum.
car was tuned by springfield motorsports and i ran it on 93 octane. 315 nitto
drag radials.

judging by the speed, i figure the car will go 11.20's or so assuming i can get the 60ft. into the 1.70's.

i am going back to the creek on 11-15 in hopes of getting 6-8 passes.

one other side note on this. on the first pass, i shifted closer to 6500 rpms from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. i felt that was too high. on the second pass i lowered the shift point to about 6300 rpms. the car actually felt faster which is explains the increase in trap speed from the first pass.

weight wise the car is stock. i didn't remove anything in an attempt to go faster. i leave at idle (don't need to break anything) and slip the clutch out. once i fine tune the launch i'm sure i can get the 60ft. down. my goal is to go into the 20's on pump gas.

can't wait for the 15th!!

Antex, thanks for updating my time. Could you change my gear ratio and take out the nitrous? I have 3.73 gears and no nitrous now.

I took my GT500 to the track for the first time. It was also my first time on any track. I want to 75-80 dragway which seemed to be uphill. Does anyone know if it is uphill?.

My times:

60ft: 1.93
1/8: [email protected]
1/4: 12.276x@ 114.21 mph

I'm hooked! I am going to a track rental day at MIR in 3 weeks. I need to figure out a few things. It seemed when I tried to heat up my r888 Proxes with water, they wheel hopped bad and I could not get them hot. I also discovered that they can't go below 26 PSI because of the stiff sidewalls. Any advice from GT500 guys? Thanks! Ben

I beat this at Import vs Domestic WCF on pump gas, 11psi, 24.5 x 8 M/T drag slicks, and stock open diff.

60ft: 1.93
1/8: 8.29 @ 85mph
1/4: 12.93 @ 105mph

The Focus is in the 12 second club. :)
