Doesn't sound like GM got very much money for the company.

thats because hummer will never be as profitable as it was (not even close). after gas went up so high, people realized having a "glorified suburban" that got even LESS gas mileage, was probably not a good idea. No one in their right mind buys any of the new garbage hummers (post H1). Hummers were a fad that only the rich and retarded bought into...in my opinion.

$150 million was probably $149 million too much. im suprised anyone was dumb enough to buy it.

IMHO Hummer turned to crap when GM bought it from AM General I was at the Detroit autoshow in 2000 and I walked by and saw the Hummer was in the GM part of the show I had to do a double take just so happens a GM engineer was standing right there and I with a look of WTF on my face I said wait just a moment there isn't that a hummer? and he said "yeah we just bought the brand from AM General so what do you think?" I said well you guys just F'ED that up that's when I lost ALL interest in the hummer.

BAE is building the MRAP and other vehicles w/ better IED survivability than the up armored humvees.

+1 the Hummer is becoming history, our military is moving on. There are several MRAP manufacturers and the military is purchasing more and more commercial trucks (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc) to use for general ass haulers.

There should have never been an H2 or H3. The Hummer name should have stopped with the H1. Period.
