Yeah Paul and myself would definately be up for it. My car had a voltage issue show up on the dyno, so hoping its just the alternator. After I get that worked out we should be good to go. Maybe you could get Mike to head over as well.

I purchased the car with the Auto set up already installed. I do have all the receipts and will have to find them to give you an exact. Everything for the car was purchased new from Ford (Mach1 automatic stuff, pedal assembly, shifter, computer, ect..) Trans, convertor, trans cooler w/braided lines all new, plus installation of everything, also they rewired the factory harness so it would plug and play. Everything bought new plus hours of installation best I can remember the total was a little over $10k. It can be done cheaper doing the work yourself, using a Baumanator (sp?) transmission controller and other ways to make it work. The gentleman I purchased it from wanted to put the key in and go as if it came that way.....that's the way it works and was exactly what I was looking for when purchased. Just wished it was a coupe!

Did you buy that car from a guy in Kentucky? Pretty sure you did, theres a local guy that built it for his wife to drive. Seen it in person once at NMRA in Bowling Green. Very nice times, makes me want an auto!

Yes that is the car he is from Georgetown... Super nice guy! I still speak with him very often, he has spoke of wanting to buy the car back. He drove it to the NMRA event not long before I purchased it.
Thanks..... I really enjoy the automatic myself not only at the drag strip but when going to shows or just a ride to get a bite to eat. The only I have not got to try with it yet and hope to soon is a trip to Road Atlanta. I have often wondered how the auto would do on the Autocross course then hit the big track, figured I better have upgraded brake pads before I go, no downshifting to slow me down. LOL...

the only thing you would have to watch for is coming out of the turn at about 40 mph....that ass will pitch out fast. I have drove this car and it gets down!!!!!

WOW! Wondered across this post and can't believe it has been this long since updating it!
UPDATE: have not touch it! Have been letting it rest and not driving near as much as I had but do still enjoy it. Have not had it at the track in well over a year. Even after owning it this length of time I still enjoy it!!!!

I remember seeing this car run at Steele years ago when we took Javid's red cobra and all the other local cobras came down to race. I always liked your car. Very impressive!

SNAP.....thanks for brining this up. now I can't remember the last time I even started mine up. I guess I need to blow the spiders out of the exhaust sometime in the very near future....LOL people always ask why it only has 4,700 miles on it, letting it set for years at a time will do it I guess.:bash:

Really enjoyed going through this blast from the past. I have to put a new clutch in my cobra and every time I read about an auto cobra it gets me thinking about selling all the t56 stuff and going to a fmvb 4r70. I can’t help but think the car would be less rowdy, go faster, and the auto wouldn’t beat the car up as much.

Haha. Nice. Just read through it myself. Brings back memories of BG 2011. First GT500/Terminator shoot out. Fun times for sure!!

Less rowdy isn't really the case with an auto. I have a loose converter with a TH400 and it's way more rowdy than a 6 speed could every dream of. Zero regrets going auto.
