Can anyone give me feedback on the effects polishing a blower would have on the blowers ability to dissapate heat. Would it have any effect? I've heard the removing the coating actually hurts the ability to dissapate heat. I've heard the same thing about polishing radiators. It doesn't make sense to me but I thought maybe somebody on this site could shed some light on the subject.

A thin layer of black paint helps dissapate heat...but it has to be applied to a certain thickness.

Or, you can go this route...Swain: BBE Heat Emitting Coat by Swain Tech for Automotive Coatings including engine piston coatings, ceramic coating services engine, automotive ceramic coating, ceramic header coating, dry film lubricant, race engine coatings, exhaust header coating
Swain is excellent....as far as I am concerned, I'll coat the Revan/Shelby radiator and heat exchanger when I get them.

If your going to polish your blower I would imagine you're doing it for show purposes and not for all out racing. (if that makes any sense)

Plus I seriously doubt there would be any noticeable difference polished vs. painted.

Thanks for the feeback. I was acutally considering getting my stock blower ported and saw the bling pictures posted on the web. From what I understand, porting the blower and increasing the internal gear ratio to spin faster will actually produce alot more heat. The BBE coating from Swain is pretty cool, is that what's on the factory blower from Ford to begin with?

Nice Annivesary car man. I had the same car and traded it for my red stripe gt500.
