I would like to get a nav unit for the lightning or bullitt or maybe both. I'm not looking for something super fancy as I would like to keep the price pretty low.

What do you guys recommend as I have no idea where to even start or what's good or not

I've seen a couple Pioneer models that look nice. I've also come across a Kenwood that seems real nice.

I had the Pioneer Avic D3 in my stang, I was happy with it. I’ll try to post pictures later when I’m home from work.

I run the Kenwood which has Garmin navigation built into it. I have the older version and it's spot on with the Navi and the sound quality is excellent, especially in a Lightning cab! Also I have the Sat radio to pick up Howard Stern! but the quality of the music is very clear with Sat radio as well.

The Pioneers are excellent quality as well.

My .02
Navi=Kenwood
Sound=pioneer

I would go with the Kenwood units, Garmin FTW! Pioneer's are also great too but I have heard lots of issues with the Navi units. I wouldve recommend Pioneer but as a sound unit only.

Anyone know of a unit that has all the functions via bluetooth with an iphone?

My Pioneer Avic F700BT bluetooth's to my Blackberry just fine, I don't see any reason it wouldn't to an iPhone.

Get the USB/iPod cable too, then you can plug an iPod/phone in and have tunes as well.

It works well too. Gets me where I need to go.

I'm liking pioneer's album art integration for the ipod. dogmush you happen to have any pics of yours installed? How is the bluetooth function on it?

That's pretty nice looking, price seems good too on those.

The price is good on those because they've had a lot of problems (very slow boot-up times mostly, and will also freeze for no reason every now and then). If I were to get one, I'd go with Pioneer's old unit, the AVIC D3. I REALLY wanted one in my stang before I just settled on leaving the stereo stock and getting a portable GPS instead. I did tons of research on double-din units before I decided that I wanted to go with the D3 (had nothing better to do over last winter break) and it was the best double-din out there for the price (although I'm partial to Pioneer..had them in all my cars and they rock). Just my $.02 :beer:

Alpine.

Once you actually get to compare you'll see there is truly no comparison. There are a few other nice brands, but Alpine is just that much better.

Either get the Alpine W900 or Pioneer AVIC Z110BT. The Alpine needs a separate bluetooth module, but when plugged in integrates nicely. Personally, I like the Pioneer more, and if you buy it one before March 31st, you get a 200 dollar mail-in rebate. I am also a fan of the Eclipse headunits, but they pulled out of the aftermarket, and it is hard to find an AVN62D now. PM me if you want one. IMO, go with the Z110 Pioneer (biggest screen, etc) and don't look back.

DISAGREE! lol

I have had the Pioneer AVIC-D3 now for about 4 years....STELLAR Unit! Does everything! Great software / ease of use. You can customize it quite a bit. The newer styles are just as sweet!

You won't go wrong with a Pioneer! It's my 3rd screen from them in the last 10 years (primarily just from switching vehicles) Nothing but sucess! Plus they are easy to bypass for the gps!
