Which Lower Rear Bumper Panel is on your 2011 GT?

I noticed this when looking at someone's else pics of their new 2011 Mustang GT.

The lower panel on my rear bumper cover is smooth on my 'Base' GT. The other car was also a 'Base' GT but it had a lovered lower panel. I have looked at other cars, both 'Premium' and 'Base' GT's and they seem to all have the louvered lower panel.

My car was built in May 2010. I'm wondering if I have the wrong lower panel on my car. :shrug: It might be the lower panel for the V6 since this year the V6 has dual exhaust.

So which panel is on your car and do you have a 'Base' GT or 'Premium' GT?

ford offers an optional lower bumper panel, but i believe it's a diffuser style. maybe they originally had the smooth like yours and it was changed up shortly after production. that's not really an uncommon case for bumpers and grilles.

all 2010's that i have seen have the smooth one like yours, mine is a base model, no otion car only 373's and has the louvered piece...

Take the car in maybe they will trade it out...

I looked on line for quite a while last night at new 2011 Mustangs on Autotrader. All of the V6's that I saw had the smooth lower rear panel like mine. All of the GT's, Base and Premium models had the louvered lower rear panel.

I'm going to call my dealer this morning and see if I can get them to get me the louvered panel and swap it for mine.

If you go to the site where you can build out a mustang, this lower valence is a build option on both the v6 and the gt. It has larger openings for the exhaust tips also.

I like the smooth as the louvered looks too busy and doesnt flow IMO. In this case less is better.

Yea I found them last night.. They are glidden wheels RTR can be had at late modle resto ... They have a similar set in silver and chrome that are on another car in this forum I'm trying to find lol..
